It's a great game, however glitches can be challenging to navigate. In my instance, I had recurrent issues rendering with normal settings until I forced the game to render in DX-11. My guess is that it has to do with GPU drivers. Once these glitches are overcome, the game is a hell of a lot of fun and it's got a great community to boot. Recommend if you are ok dealing with some quirks of the software and the semi-frequent glitching/bugs.

This game I have significant hope for-all the base elements are there! You've got decent graphics, an essentially standard user experience, but as a DCS World guy, the playing itself needs significant working.

This sounds kind of contrary to what I just said, but let me explain. I use a high end throttle, stick, and set of pedals (VirPIL and MFG Crosswinds for the curious) and there is a definite input problem. I have found my rudder pedals requiring a cycle to respond (quickly one way, then the other) which seems like the game might be telling them to sleep? I've experienced similar problems when using the pitch and yaw, but then suddenly add in roll and I need to yank the stick around just to get any movement at all. Speaking on the roll, the rolling authority across the board feels like a passenger plane, not a space fighter. It is pretty bad. You don't need to be able to snap-roll all the way over in an instant, but it needs improvement. I cannot chase a target by "flying the cross" (AKA giving pitch, then roll, then pitch, repeat) without significant rudder/yaw deflection, and I end up feeling like my wings have been given lead weights; it's possible, but at the cost of my own enjoyment.

Moving from the actual flying experience there is one big issue if the developers are trying to entice an audience familiar with flying sims: menu controls. I have accidentally opened menus mid flight because they are bound to my throttle, and there is no way to unbind them since they are "essential binds" or some such. This is honestly just plain not thought out and tested. People that are playing with a HOTAS or HOSAS are more likely to use the keyboard for their menus similar, not less. Please make all the menu navigation bindings able to be completely unbound for the joystick crowd. Seriously. Next to that, the game can't recognize all the buttons I have on my throttle base. I'm severely limited in binds because of this and I don't want to reconfigure my throttle software to accommodate a single game, causing me to have to rebind all my games. I have push buttons, ON-OFF-ON toggles, rotary encoders, and two position toggle switches that are totally unrecognized in this game. Disappointing to a moderate extent.

The last point I have is more a feature ask than anything else-TrackIR. Plenty of people have it already if they are coming from DCS, MSFS, X-Plane, etc. and I have definitely found myself angling my head to look around only to remember that no matter how much I wish for the ability to, the head won't move around without either a VR headset or toggling free look/using quick look. Speaking of free look, I lost some flight control functions when it was toggled on, a big issue.

While I have listed some pretty intense issues-I want to enjoy this game as much as possible. If you are playing with a controller, as others have said, you are likely going to enjoy the game! But for the group of people this game to a degree was pushed toward-us HOTAS users that wanted some star wars-flavored experience, these issues are not something that'll just buff out, some serious effort will be required.

That being said, I'm still going to recommend this game, because it's offering something that has been absent for a long time, and I think it speaks to plenty of fans and enthusiasts. Just buckle down and handle the issues and this could be a serious breadwinner.
