First i didn't get it, now i understand

2 years ago my dad was diagnosed with terminal lung cancer and he didn’t tell us until about a month later. When I heard the news I didn’t talk for about a day. My dad started acting weird, it was like he was keeping secrets from my mom and I. He would always leave the house without saying were he was going and come back until very late. This happened for a while and then out of nowhere, my mom wanted to divorce my dad. He was recovering from a successful surgery, but my mom just wanted to divorce him. They weren’t telling me anything and I was so angry because I didn’t know what was going on. After about two months, my parents got back together but I noticed my mom wasn’t happy. Even on my dad’s 51st birthday my mom forgot to shape my dad’s bacon into a 51 and he had to ask her to do this. Then again out of nowhere, my mom said that my baby sister and I had to stay at our aunt and uncle’s. For 3 months straight my sister and I lived at our uncle’s house and I was just clueless about the situation so I didn’t talk much. We finally went back to our house and one day my mom told me something I couldn’t believe. She told me my dad was a drug dealer. I didn’t believe her until my aunt said that my uncle had arrested my dad. I was so disoriented and my mom and I went home and we found my dad there. This made no sense since my aunt had said that my dad had been arrested. My mom asked my dad where my uncle was and he didn’t respond. “You killed him didn’t you” my mom said. My dad was silent. My mom asked again where he was and my dad said “I tried to stop them from doing it” while tearing up. Then my mom yelled at him to leave the house. My dad had been telling us to get our belongings because we were going to leave the house but my mom just yelled at him to leave. My mom then grabbed a knife and pointed it at my dad, ordering him to leave. When he refused, she charged at him and cut his hand. Then they wrestled to get the knife while I was paralyzed not knowing what to do. My dad was able to get the knife from my mom’s hands and it looked like he was going to stab her so I jumped in front of my mom to try and protect her. “What the hell is wrong with you!”, he yelled. “We’re a family!”, he exclaimed. “We’re a family” he repeated softly. Then, although I still was very confused about what was happening, I had to call the cops on my dad. That was the last I ever saw of him. He wanted to give me money but I rejected it because of all the rage I felt towards him. He had killed my uncle, and almost stabbed my mom. He was later found dead in a meth lab. I felt sorrow, but at the same time I wanted him to die with all my heart. 10 months later, on my 18th birthday, two old friends of his who are millionaires gave me $9,720,000 for being a victim of my father. I am just glad that all the money I have now is earned money, and not blood money like the money my dad was offering me.
