Game: It's a fun, simple arcade flight combat game. Nothing too technical, nothing too complicated. Like Descent except mostly outdoors and without the puzzle element. Primitive by modern standards, but still enjoyable

Port: Decent enough. Still very low res graphics, most of the tweaking seems to be QoL stuff to make it run better on modern systems. Plus achievements. Some of which are buggy.

Not bad, good atmosphere. But no puzzles to speak of, and no inventory. Gameplay consists of find object A, use on receptacle A. Produces object B. Use on receptacle B. There is no branching, and no way to do things in a different order. You have no inventory and never have more than one object at once.

Far too difficult and incredibly repetitive. Player character takes up half the screen so you can't see what's coming. Very difficult to see where you're supposed to go and what is "out of bounds". Attacks are very slow and clunky and can't be interrupted once you start, leaving you open to long-range attacks from enemies you can't see because of the aforementioned problems.

Quite charming. The models are quite simple which is to be expected for a little indie game, but the story is intriguing and it's well made. The only real issue I had is the sheer number of times the player character gets knocked out or faints. After the third time I found it very difficult to believe.

Monumentally tedious.

I was in a coma once. It was more entertaining than this.

At least the other games in the series have some sense of progression. This is "open world" meaning you're just dumped in a vast open space and have to wander round and round until something happens. Which may or may not achieve anything. And usually has nothing to do with the plot.

Stanley Parable Deluxe is to Stanley Parable as Portal 2 is to Portal. Alarmingly so.

In both cases, the first game is almost a proof of concept. A taster, just enough to intrigue the player and then it's over. The sequel then takes the idea and runs with it into something way more expansive. Although Portal 2 has a lot more content than SPD. This, even though it's an expanded remake is alarmingly light on new material.

Yes, there is new narration and there are new endings, but almost all of them revolve around a meta deconstruction of the nature of sequels. So...it does get a little tiresome. Especially with the bucket. I imagine the dev team found it way funnier than I did.

If you don't have Stanley, get this one. If you do have it...well, this might be worth getting if it's on sale or something. But don't expect massively improved graphics or anything.

Although I did enjoy the narrator freaking out at the sight of Firewatch, fretting that it's far too open ended to make for a suitable game for him.

Basically a rip-off of the old Flash game "Every Day The Same Dream" only without the wit, charm or atmosphere.

There is nothing profound here. There is no game here. You can get every achievement and see everything in less than five minutes.

A lot of fun. The creators obviously enjoyed The Witness as you have to appreciate something in order to satirise it this well. A fantastic sense of humour, and the puzzles are fairly easy which stop the player getting frustrated...though there are a couple of forehead-slapping "outside the box" moments which feel very satisfying when you figure them out.

The most challenging game in the Myst saga.

Not because of the puzzles, but because of the atrocious controls. You'll spend most of your time wrestling with the tank controls, trying to get your character to go where you want, falling through tiny cracks in the landscape, staring at walls because the camera refuses to operate correctly...

...the transition to 3D was terrible for adventure games. And this is a prime example of why.
