Ever since I played the NextFest demo I've been eagerly awaiting this game, and at least for me it hasn't disappointed.

It takes a new spin on the classic Civilization formula; though the press release focused on the alternate ages mechanic what I enjoy the most is the production chains and economic system. The domains are also a lot of fun to play with. The alternate ages probably add replay value but so far I've been mostly focusing on learning the vanilla mechanics.

I admit the graphics don't bother me, but honestly I don't think they're as bad as people say either. It's prettier than most indie games, but I guess it's caught in the middle; because the graphics are good for an indie game but not great for a major game, a lot of people judge it by major game standards in which case it's lacking.

One cautionary word I will throw in, while this game has multiplayer it's apparently pretty backwards, reliant on IP connections and fiddly at that. The devs have already stated they'll look into changing that to something fit for this decade, and simultaneous multiplayer is also listed as coming soon, but if you're buying this game for multiplayer you might want to wait on those updates.

I've played Age of Wonders for some time and this is a great improvement for the series. AoW games have always had impressive tactical combat, but this expands and enhances the strategic element to be more Civ like, and it's been a lot of fun so far (38 hours).

The extremely flexible nation designer (think Stellaris, but with more interesting choices) also adds an enormous amount of replay value.

With a similar but improved engine to Fallout 3, New Vegas's main claim to fame is the writing. It's a well scripted game that manages to have a strong storyline while still being open world, with a large cast of memorable NPCs.

If you've every played a Bethesda or other open world RPG and thought "I like this game but wished there was more depth", well, I can only recommend giving this game a try.

Unfortunately no game can be perfect, and this game suffers in two main areas - the dated graphics, and occasional bugs, especially when making heavy use of mods. However, I wouldn't let that keep you from giving the game a chance. The DLC is also highly recommended.

The classic 4x back in all its glory. Some games just never get old.

This is an adorable and nicely polished puzzle game. It makes great use of room scale; possibly the best use of room scale, in fact. No teleporting here, you can walk around the puzzle to inspect it from all angles, and then use the space to build your pipe contraption by hand. The space requirement is high, but oh so worth it. Definitely one of the most polished games currently available.

The puzzles start easy and grow more complex. Usually the solutions are fairly simple, but it often takes a lot of experimentation and rebuilding to find them. Some of the puzzles are open; you have a large number of pipes and can do what you like; while others only give you exactly enough pipes to finish.

The Water Bears are the most adorable creatures ever, and will interact with you once you finish the puzzle; I've probably spent half my time in this game doing puzzles, and half just playing around with them.

An incredible game, and a great workout. The controls feel natural and within minutes I felt in the zone, whirling around and firing off arrows while executing dodges.

Cheaper than a gym membership and a lot more fun!

This game is what I hoped VR would be. Search dungeon rooms for loot like you're really there; lean over to look inside barrels or behind statues for hidden treasure. Then use your sword and shield to parry opponents' attacks and then wait to swing while they're off guard, or dart forward to jab a vulnerable spot and leap back before they can hit you. And when I say dart forward and leap back, I don't mean with buttons on a controller.

I have a decent sized playing area, so that's reflected in this review. I imagine it's still fun standing only but having enough room to dance around in sword fights was a huge plus.
