Been playing this on my phone before this desktop version was released. It's really great: love the simplicity mixed with strat variation it grants you.

This game needs more recognizement and support IMO. It's a FFT-like game that seems to have lots of attention behind it; you can tell by how interactive some spells/objects are with the enviroment and how flexibile the crafting&class system is.
It's fun to replay it and check out new team comps, or harder ways to play it via personally handicapping your team size, restricting oneself to get back to the town, or even amping difficulty configs like the AI intelligence and mob stat boosts.

I'm looking forward to updates/DLC, or a sequel! This was mad fun for me.

If I could sum the game in one word, it would be "Satisfying".
It's a fairly balanced strategy game with six different characters, each one with their own unique playstyle. Along with 6~ different episodes for each, posing with different kinds of difficulty modifiers... it tailors for everyone!
The OST and visuals are consistently great, and content-wise... It has enough to keep you hooked for some days, and get you to come back in case you didn't finish the game. It probably needs more enemy/event variety, but for what one pays for, i think you get more than enough.

So uh,
As you may have already seen from the trailer, this game has some stunning visuals and a great OST; something that's constantly delivered, thankfully.
That's kinda it though. The humour is kinda one-note, with 75% of the characters having this "lowercase speaking, careless personality" trait and while I found it enjoyable, it got rather tiring as soon as I was about to finish the game, which, btw, is kinda short and not really challenging at all.
STILL. I had my fair share of fun while playing it, and I don't regret buying Pikuniku at all.
I dare say it's a worthy purchase if you are a completionist, or just like simple, cutesy stuff. I think it could be a perfect gift for -that- friend who almost never plays nor commits to long games and enjoys the aesthetic more than the playstyle.

Ok; since Mira got buffed in the patch that came after their release I feel like doing them some justice.

Iru's a pretty risky character to use, yet I dare say she's balanced. I'm p sure 90% of people who complain about how frail she is just think so because they play her as a conventional bully, which she's not. She's an offensive character for sure, but instead of relying on her stats like most bullies do, she relies on the situation and her cards at hand. She's not appreciated because, when playing her, most tend to dive into any fight they can with ANY full-HP player just 'cus free DMG, and then get a good chunk in return because of her -1DEF. IMO Iru's supposed to snatch victories and stars out of 1HP players exclusively, and through the course of the game it's not really hard to catch up to opponents or damage them with cards such as long-ranged shot, cloud of seagulls, sealed guardian... and even Iru's hyper!
So yeah, I've seen and made some cool plays with her and rest assured, she's not underpowered at all; she's just a niche Marc that trades solid/defensive stats for more accessible RNG-proof damage. Her hyper also helps alot in co-op to melt M10's barrier, IMO.

As for Mira... They're ok in their current state (gotta admit pre-buff Mira sucked; didn't buy the DLC until they got it). If my memory serves me right, they have the exact same stats of Hime, with an additional passive skill that turns them into a more trap-focused character (Optionally). Their hyper marks the tile you're standing on and then you play it again anytime to appear right back to it before your move action! You can use it to ambush, escape, or norma; pretty flexible! It used to really suck before, since you had to draw her hyper TWICE: once for marking, and another one to teleport. But that's not a problem anymore.
I like how this character allows slightly varied playstyles and deck-builds even with stats leaning to offense.

I've tried few Shoot em ups... and THIS ONE is by far the greatest, IMO.
The OST and visuals are beautiful, and this game runs smoothly: in my crappy laptop!!
Even if "Shmup" isn't exactly my favourite genre, Mushihimesama is p much the only one who gets me to replay it from time to time.

I dare say that this should be your first one If you want to get into the genre!

Difficulty-wise, I think it's moderate, leaning to easy, since the attack patterns of monsters & bosses are easy to learn and dodge once you figured them out. It's a pleasing metroidvania for completionists and casual players that enjoy short & pretty-looking games. The style is consistent, and it's great how the whole world map doesn't feel linear; letting you discover new areas your own way.
