I loved the first game so much. And there's a lot to appreciate here. But the balancing is god awful, the glitches are frustrating, and the game as a whole lacks a tremendous amount of polish.

Inputs not registering at key moments, music not loading during bosses or area transitions, the balancing issues of some enemies, weapons being either totally busted or feeling useless at different points, some of the bosses feel like luck, not skill.

The Brotherhood of Salt indeed.

If Blasphemous was Dark Souls, for better or worse, this is Dark Souls 2, and until a few patches or DLC come out that greatly improve the experience of the game, it doesn't justify its price in the least. When it's $5-$10 above most indie titles and lacks so.mucn polish, I can't recommend it.

Wait for a sale, or at least until it's been a patched a few times.
