DISCLAIMER: I've been following the development of this game closely on twitch for almost a year so my opinion is likely to be biased.

Swords n Magic and Stuff is so far a great game with huge potential, but right now a lot of my excitement for the game is in the potential, not the current playable build. The mechanics and gameplay are incredibly fun and theres plenty of stuff to do for an enjoyable 10+ hour experience and if they carry on with development as planned and as they have been doing then this is going to be an incredible finished game. What I'd recommend on whether to buy it is the same as I told my friends -
If you're interested in following development and getting updates every month or so to come back to then buy now. You'll have fun and get to be a part of the creation of an incredible game. That being said what you're buying right now is a very early build with limited content, and if you want a full gameplay experience then personally I'd say to wait for the full release or at least for a few months. Wishlist it now so you don't forget about it and check up every now and again to see how its going and buy when it provides what you're looking for - if that takes until the full release then buy it at full release but definitely do not leave this page and forget about it.

I'd love to tell everyone to just buy now because the devs are great and im super stoked on this game, but I think it's fair to both them and the customers that you know what you're getting into before buying by leaving an honest review. Like i said - I love the game and what currently exists is fantastic and i cant wait to see how it develops, just know that the current experience in game is limited and you'll notice that while playing.

Played for probably 2-3000 hours on the off Steam client over about 5-6 years. Great game, not perfect but it really just has something about it that i just love. I've always loved the MOBA concept but I struggle to get into others, probably because of the more Strategy feel that the majority of them have. Smite throws you into the action and my god are skins in this game incredible. Hundreds of fully fleshed reskins that could be characters in their own right. Can't recommend enough.
