FTL was so amazing that initially, I was disappointed that this game was nothing like it. That mild resentment quickly went away after I actually spent some time playing.

This game falls somewhere between chess and Advance Wars. You have complete knowledge of enemy movements and capabilities, and your job is to counter it before it happens. Unlike FTL, very little is left up to pure chance.

The game is incredibly well thought-out. Lots of nuance to the art and sound cues. The music is also very atmospheric and fitting. The achievements are fun and reasonable, and there's lots to unlock and discover. The game continually forces you to make interesting choices and tradeoffs. And it has all the love put into it that FTL had.

I can't recommend this game enough.

Brutal. Insane. Addictive.

Perfect controls on a perfect top-down roguelike. Highly recommended.

This is an excellent retro platformer. The music is catchy, the visuals are good, the level design is varied, and the controls are tight and refined. This game is an absolute steal for one dollar.

The difficulty and randomness of the game give an unbelievable amount of replayability. I highly recommend it if you like roguelikes, micromanagement, and a great challenge.
