You already know it's buggy and unfinished. But at the time of writing this I have a cool 69 hours in this game and it's only a week old, and I don't regret a single hour.

Gameplay is more simplified than in XCom 2, which makes it get old fast. Feels really repetitive by the late game.

First off, I want to say that it is a good game and if you are a fan of the series you should give it a go. Here is the thing though, I feel like a lot of the reviews on steam are *really* overselling it. It is not gods gift to Shadowrun, and a lot of the time, I would say that it feels really half-assed.
I tried to look at this game objectivly, but every time I got really into it a little voice in the back of my mide would normally say something like "This is good, but ya know, it aint Dragonfall". The story is not as good as in Dragonfall, most of the characters are not as good (I said most, not all) and it just feels less like a project that the devs really cared about.
And that is when it occured to me. Critics loved Dragonfall and it was a huge success, it was such a big deal that they went on to make a director's cut and get even more money with the addition of new missions, and this time that is what they are planning on doing. They are selling a game that is obviously missing something, and are later gonna sell it as DLC or a new edition or something. There are even character dialogues that just scream "SIDE QUEST" and end up going nowhere.
As for the new features some fall flat like the new stealth system which is real clunky and kinda dumb, and the non lethal takedowns that are available for one party member are basically just another way of killing things but the bodies just kinda wiggle around on the floor. The only big new thing that is worth mentioning is the matrix, but holly nut-balls is it a heck of a lot better than the old one, and it kinda makes matrix stuff more fun than meat-space stuff, not to say that meat space suff isnt fun either. The atmosphere is also very well done and a lot of the new runs are quite interesting and not just "Go to this place, kill these dudes, then do the thingy"
Overall, it is a good game for $20 and will keep out Shadowrun urges in check while you wait for your ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ PARTY LEADER WHO IS AWAY FOR THE SUMMER SO WE CAN'T PLAY THE TABLETOP VERSION UNTIL HE GETS BACK. Also I feel like some of my experience was ruined due to me playing as an adept, so I think after writing this I will go back and try playing as a decker.
