Hacked lobbies, script kiddies, noobtubers, commando knifers and an airspace filled with killstreaks. Every single multiplayer lobby is/has at least one of these, and it is bloody annoying.

As for the single player, 5 hours of linear nonesense (Campaign) and an okish co-op mode (Spec Ops) that both pit you against AI of your difficulty choice, with objectives on screen.

If you are looking to pick up an older Call of Duty, just get the first Modern Warfare. Less bs. More enjoyable.

I find this game a mixed bag; in some areas it excels, whilst in others it falls flat on its face.

Pros:
+ Mod support (Such as cockpit mod, user created paint liveries, etc)
+ Lots of fun gamemodes, such as overtakes, endurance and live routes
+ Nice visuals
+ Can be quite challenging when you crank up the difficulty
+ Vehicle damage is impressive, and the crashes are sublime
+ Wide array of familiar cars, e.g. the Bugatti Veyron, DB9, etc
+ Customisable paint livery
+ Plenty of content - SP (~20 hours), MP & Custom mode (Which depend on how much you love racing, lol)
+ Controller, KB/M and racing wheel support

Cons:
- No cockpit view (Though this can be rectified with mods)
- The handling has been casualised to the point where your car wants to drift around every corner, even at the highest difficulty!
- Often, races comprise of merely catching up to one super difficult AI, with the other racers acting as slow obstacles on narrow tracks
- There are no 'teams', which was a cool feature in the first GRID
- Vehicles are just given to you through victories, or vehicle challenges, so you end up with a billion cars you will never use
- Game defaults to an 800 x 600 window upon alt tabbing (Something I do a lot), which requires you to manually revert every single time
- Some settings are restricted to Intel HD Graphics, which does not make any sense seeing as none of Intel's crap can run this at an acceptable level

6.5/10, buy it on sale.

On the surface this game looks very sketchy — A top down shooter, originally made for the mobile phone and under the Halo franchise, renowned for giving no ♥♥♥♥♥ for PC gamers — I too would have turned a blind eye on this, if not for the fact it is the same price as a bottle of coke.

It turns out it is actually really really good.

Missions are usually around three minutes long, depending on the 'skill' of the player, and comprise of nothing more than 'defend X' or 'Kill Y'. Prior to this, you are given the option to customise your load out, as well as set handicaps for the mission, making it excellent for short bursts of fun, giving yourself a challenge and also adding in a little replay value too.

The port is excellent as well, allowing a variety of input devices (Controller, KB/M & Touch screen), achievements, changable resolution and some, though minimal, graphical options.

All in all, £1.99 well spent, especially as I made £0.52 back from selling the card drops.

One of the best, if not the best, installments of Battlefield. This game right here is the pinnicle of destruction in the Battlefield franchise, allowing you to level entire maps, crushing the filth (wookies) that lurk inside.

Unlike later Battlefield games, and its competition, Bad Company 2 offers a really enjoyable single player experience. With hilarious dialogue exchanges between the characters, including some small references (aimed) at Call of Duty Modern Warfare 2, it really hooks you into the story. Not to mention there is collectibles and hidden items scattered around the maps, and a lot of the campaign maps are really big, some requiring a vehicle to traverse! If you love collecting, then you'll feel at home in this game.

As for the MP, it is still packed with players. The PC version is the most populous platform for this game, usually peaking at over 3,000 concurrent players, so don't worry about not being able to find a game. The rank system is also tough to climb, so it will take a while to max out your level. One slight ♥♥♥♥♥♥ though is the gun model; it remains fixed and takes up half of the screen, which can be a pain at times.

That is just the base game! Battlefield Bad Company 2 features one of the best expansion packs I have bought for a video game - Vietnam. An entire revamp of the original game, set in Vietnam war, with a new SP campaign, MP maps and guns. Though, the player count for this portion of the game is rather low, and nearly everyone crams into meatgrinder servers, but some decent servers do exist in Europe, so it may be a hit or miss.

It is frequently reduced by 75% in every Steam and Origin sale, so, along with Vietnam, it is definately worth picking up. All in all, 9/10. GG.

EDIT: Apparently 'n i g g l e' is too much for Steam.
