NEW PLAYERS
This is a much updated version of the Sea Dogs: To Each His Own and which is in a way a sequel to the original and the best pirate game of all times Sea Dogs 2[en.wikipedia.org]. But more updates are on their way. Even though this is an old game, it is by far one of the best single player pirate games out there! It can even run on my potato laptop with 80 to 200 FPS. While some other devs out there are trying to make a new game like Corsairs Legacy that currently runs at 15-20 FPS on my laptop and has almost no content and is more buggy than this game.

This game has more than 200+ hours of gameplay to offer, basically at least 1 month! So strap in and enjoy the ride! Is it more expensive than Sea Dogs: To Each His Own? Yes, if excluding the DLC. But it actually does include all the DLCs. So in that regard it is already cheaper and less buggy. Also it is going for more replayability in the near future. And since there is no real competition out there for this genre, even though more than 20 years had passed, in my opinion it is worth the price and is much better than nothing!

OLD PLAYERS
I am sure that you guys will enjoy the new look of the game. Anyways, I enjoyed the Sandbox version of this game and as long as I can run it on my laptop, it is already good enough for me. I do indeed want to support the further development of this game. So I would like to pay for this game and keep it and see what it will turn into in another 1 to 2 years. I paid so much money for so many other games. With 400 games in my library worth $2.500, what's another $25? Am I right? I keep returning to this game anyways as I still find it the best pirate game out there. Maelstrom engine alone cost about half that price tag. And here we get all these visual updates and more in the same game, ready to be downloaded and play with no additional figuring out as to how to install this and that.

So yeah, I would like to thank BlackMark Studio developers for returning to make this game a bit better. It is sad that back in the days Akella just ran out of funding for this game. But it is what it is... So yeah, at this point we'll take what we can get!

Even though my first game experience was difficult due to early bugs and crashes. This is the best immersive game I've played in a long time apart from Red Dead Redemption 2. I even made an aswesome Next Level Main Menu 3.5[www.nexusmods.com] mod for it. This mod adds multiple ways to save the game, change time, weather and much more!

Game Settings:
Most of all the advanced graphic settings are adjusted to HIGH with some exceptions. In order to get a more in-depth feel of the world and so it won't feel like a blurry dream, the textures had to be set to VERY HIGH.

Object quality doesn't really matter in most games as in most cases you won't even tell whether something is drawn smoothly or not due to texture quality. And especially in this game, simple things like leafs has the most aweful smoothing you can possibly imagine when you get closer to view it. Therefore Object quality is set at MEDIUM or even LOW.

Shadows shouldn't matter much as they don't really add much of a visual depth to the game and only slowing it down.

For those that still are having issues with FPS, a lower in-game screen resolution can fix that!
