This is tough to recommend.

On one hand, it has extremely tedious game-play, clunky platforming and it's difficult to even identify what the core game-play loop is.

On the other, it's a beautifully realized world, a touching story and art design that left me awe-struck. Near the end I found myself tearing up at how poignant it all was.

If you're someone who can forgive lackluster game-play for good writing/dialogue, world-building and sheer style, I can give this a recommend.

If you enjoyed Minecraft, but wished for a more in-depth crafting system, and amazing boss battles, this game is for you. I found it brutally difficult on Expert mode, but it made my final victory all the sweeter. This game is jam-packed with content, enemies, NPCs, and even a huge number of references to other media/fandoms. With a huge amount of (free) updates, it is no wonder Terraria wins Steam's "Labour of Love" award year after year.

This game feels like a cross between Stardew Valley and Journey. A hauntingly beautiful game, about coming to terms with death and seeing the beauty around you. If you can look past some of the grinding the game puts you through, you have an amazing game, one of the best I've ever played.

The best way to describe Stardew Valley is that it is a cross between Harvest Moon and Legend of Zelda. It's one of my favorites because it's a game that is just packed with so much charm, from the beautiful scenery to the townsfolks' dialogues to even the way the characters move. Everything is rendered with so much love and painstakingly-done detail, that I find new things every-time I play. It's hard to believe the game was designed by just one person. Plus, you can put hats on horses so that's pretty cool I guess.

It's hard to believe this is SuperGiant's first game. Everything about it is so breathtakingly beautiful, and it is clear they put a lot of painstaking detail into every scene. The levels are absolutely gorgeous, but the combat is also very well-balanced and it feels tight. It feels good to counter that enemies devasting blow, or to land that expert power shot at just the right moment. Oh, and of course, the voice-acting and lore. More than any other game I've ever played, this game really pulls you into the story of the fantastical world, and this devasting Calamity that befell it. The sweet succlent tones of the Stranger as he dictates your adventures, give life and story to eveyrthing you do. This world truly comes alive and you become the Kid in his quest to save the world.

10/10 My favorite game of all time.
