Any game that comes in a bundle that goes on sale for about £4 when its original price was £181 instantly gets a thumbs up

also blowing people up is lit.

My son and heir to the throne of Norway had somehow contacted syphlis. I was unsure which of the eight ladies in my court that I had given syphilis he got it from. Meanwhile The Viking raider that I am tells me to 'rape sack and pillage' Rome. Meanwhile half of my realm thinks I am a tyrant for attempting to imprison my imbecile nephew who was first in line for succession.

Days later rebellions galore kick off and I'm reduced to literally one province.

9 out of 11 Can I get more than 10 children next time?

Why have I not written a review for this game yet? Eh. Here goes my usual wording of 'OMG GLORIOUS GAME'.

So! XCOM 2 makes the assumption you f*cked up XCOM: Enemy Unknown and the world is now under the rule of the 'ADVENT Coalition' who are a puppet of the ethereal from Enemy Unknown. The game kicks off with as it usually does: A tutorial where people die! (At least it's none of your precious soldiers you've made!) But anyways!

Once that’s done this is where you begin to create your own soldiers! (*Squeal of delight! *) Or be boring and do the game with the pre-generated soldiers. But if you bother to turn your best friends and yourself into operators you will get SO much more attached to them as you go through the campaign! Just imagine your best friend being under fire from several aliens while you: The glorious sniper of the crew has only one shot to save him! It's up to you to take that risk of 55% to kill one of the units trying to flank him to end his life.

Now the missions in this can be a little repetitive (Shoot aliens, Grab item, evac and such forth) But the environments you fight in will feel oddly different when you do (Random map generation is glorious :D) And doing the monthly Op's can add a decent bit of variety. However, this game REALLY puts you under pressure with the turn limits, which I personally think is complete BS compared to the last game. I've had many scenarios where I've just wanted to wait the enemy out and sneak to the objective but NOPE! Three turns left on the clock so I gotta grenade and run my ranger up to the objective!

And that brings me to something else: Classes! There are 5 types of specialisations/classes/operators and they are as follows:

Ranger.
Grenadier.
Specialist.
Sharpshooter.
Psi Operative
(6 if you include the SPARK from Shen's last gift DLC)

Each of these operators was in XCOM: Enemy Unknown but under a different name and now they have received a major overhaul in skills, balances and abilities. (The ranger has a ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ sword! I'm not complaining!) The Psi operative is no longer a special person with 'The gift' it's now a trained-from-rookie unit, I don't like this myself but the masses of new abilities is awesome!

I'd spoil the story and go into more detail but I have one last thing to say before I conclude this the graphics in this game... Beautiful... I honestly love the look of this game.

But anyways: Get this game if you loved XCOM: Enemy Unknown and yes! I did diverge from some points but anyways! So, what are you waiting for?
