Played this game like its my life career for 1 full year. 6000+ hours

Overall if you played Runescape or other MMOPRG where you can do whatever the hell you want and enjoy pvp, you will enjoy this game. If you are in for the game and not the storyline this is the perfect game. Grind for gear/skills and build your own character to become powerful. Enhancing gear can be a ♥♥♥♥♥ due to its RNG nature but it is also very rewarding.

This game isn't for crybabies that give up easily. Enhancing WILL set you back at times. Be wise and know when to enhance your gear or not. Any negative reviews based on enhancing are people who just want instant gratification, offended easily, or special needs and think the world owes them something. If you fail at something, try again. Its really that simple and thats how life works. Lol.


Edit 2018: They implemented a system where you can buy costumes, melt them and enhance your gear without de enhancement. This game has gone full blown Pay to win. I no longer recommend it.

Edit 2020: I no longer play this game for competitive reasons. I'd play the game for immersion and at your own pace. I no longer care about being the top 5% which has made me miserable while playing the game.

EDIT 2024: As life moves on, we continue to live and do what we want to do for the best for ourselves. I've accepted everything in this game that can go right and go wrong. BDO went in the right direction but discarded every single aspect of the game that made it original for PVP. I I haven't played for literally 3 years and then by the time i realized it, PVP in BDO is non existent. You can grind for all the gear you want + pay to gamble/win, but the devs don't give a flying ♥♥♥♥ about you. There is so much CAP pvp that the game is diluted with no essence of what it originally stood for. I used to grind to enhance for pvp but as of now, there is no point for grinding or getting the gear that you need. Node wars is nonexistent, multiple top notch guilds have quit. If you decide to play theres nothing for your guild to try to build on. PVE is a ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ joke. Mobs are brain dead. Devs compensate brain dead mobs by making you get one shotted and lose Billions of crystals.

if you want a PVE game, play ELDEN RING. BDO is ♥♥♥♥ for PVE. Until Devs fix PVP. BDO will be peak.
