Coven was so worth the wait, such a mechanically satisfying game even in its early access state. Guns feel great, gore is disgusting, enemies are tough and fun to fight and the magic system is pretty cool, especially with the spell that forces you to decide between eating enemies for health or using their corpse for more mana.

I do have some pieces of feedback though.

-The game needs weapon/spell rebinding. A weapon wheel is cool and all but I'd like to be able to change all individual weapon keybinds too.
-I don't think the dash suits the game, I think an infinite sprint/always run option would be better honestly.
-The acid mechanic seems pretty useless right now, I constantly forget about it and it doesn't seem to be the most effective? If you could see the trajectory of it before spewing it I think that'd make it a little more useful.

Excellent atmosphere and cool climbing mechanics, a speedrunner's dream too no doubt.

Some of the best bosses in the genre, very fun to fight and learn the mechanics of. Also has a bunch of unique mechanics that improve on the Soulslike formula. The game suffers from some serious linearity compared to other games in the genre though which would be nice to see improved on in the DLC or the sequel.

a massive open world with lots of cool new weapons, but a strange amount of wasted empty space and some incredibly aggravating boss fights. the good outweighs the bad but if from soft continues down this path with bosses it's going to be hell in their next souls game.

when it's bad it's annoying but when it's good holy ♥♥♥♥ there's nothing else like it

it's good, love everything but the melee combat which i think could use a bit of variety in its combos and some more challenging fights that don't involve guns because the game is just way too easy against melee enemies
