Genuinely one of the best 3D stealth games, very fun.

When I played the Styx games I wrote a review on the sequel "Styx: Shards of Darkness," but forgot to do a review on "Styx: Master of Shadows," and am simply rectifying my mistake from then.

10 years later this still holds up

a city builder that isnt a ♥♥♥♥♥♥ builder

Its a visual novel with a bunch of deductions puzzles and interesting implications.

It is a surrealist art game where you explore to solve problems and make your way forward, there are a couple of puzzles and a bit of combat. Kind of wish there was a manual save functions cause there were some places I would like to just launch the game to look at again.

They obviously didn't achieve the open ended feel as much as everyone hoped. But they did achieve the maze feeling of ending up in the same place again and again with different stuff and new directions.

Kinda expensive though. And clearly some of the reviews are full of people who's expectations grew massive over half a decade. I dunno, if you want a atmosphere game thats got more gameplay than a walking sim with a horror aesthetic then this is for you. If you wanted a revolution in game design or a geiger esque masterpiece with 100 hours of gameplay, I wish you good luck finding it.

man, i want to like it, its really pretty and conceptually fun, but so many of the mechanics just suck absolute ass

i put down a bunch of huge stacks of different metals to climb a hill to grab something and by the time i got back down all my stuff has despawned

when i put it down it was labeled as mine, so i thought that meant it would stick around, but i guess the answer is ♥♥♥♥ you
