Nostalgia/10

Yakuza LAD was the easiest 100% from all yakuzas I played so far, you don't need to grind Japanese chess or Mahjong or some other random board game.


Just like other yakuza games, you have to sit through it for few hours before it picks up a bit.

You can also start from this game if never played other yakuza games. No need to know anything about other 6 games.

You either give up within first few hours of Yakuza 0 or you enjoy every single second of it and buy all Yakuza games on Steam. There's no in-between.

Completed all 3 chapters when it was free in 2022.
Decent game for a price of Zero. 🥸

You play as a pair of Twins (in their 20s): Alyson and Tyler(A trans man). They can communicate with each other through Telepathy.

Game's story is based in rural Alaska setting, it starts with Tyler returning from Juvenile detention center after serving his time, for killing his mother in self-defense.
Both go back to their house last time before they sell it. While exploring home, they recall old memories and try to figure out what happened that night when twins killed mum in self-defense. Depending on how you interpret that scene, there are two endings.

Some Point & Click Puzzles here and there, and Recalling old memories is the whole 'Gameplay'

• Game looks visually good.
  
• Acting is decently done.
  
• Once finished you can replay from selections of scenes from chapters, no need to start from starting point.
  (Good if you are missing any achievements in the end)
  
• It has Xbox account integration, achievements unlock for both steam and Xbox at same time, No need to play again on Xbox (it is a plus, i guess).

• Main Characters look lifeless and don't justify the work of voice actors.
  
• Throughout the whole 16 hours of playing, I didn't find a single interesting character. From main leads to side-characters, all felt shallow.
  
• Really bad way of storytelling, characters randomly remind each other of things of past that they already know, for the sake of 'character development'.
  
• Pace in first chapter is really slow.
  
• Gets boring really quick. Seeing 80% + rating, I thought there must be something unique and groundbreaking in this game. But it never came.
  
• Disappointing ending, you go through whole game for game to go "just pick whatever reality/ending you wanna believe in".

Played for few hours, So far it felt good.
AI is competent, wayyyyyyy better than AI in Gwent.

lol.. had to set steam to use only one core to even open this.

Just your usual mediocre story with random twist. A Big downgrade from first two.

Even tho Clem is all over game cover and screenshots, you don't play as her (except few minutes in flashbacks).

Play it if you wanna play. If not, you aren't missing much.

Timeless Classic.
