You stood with nerves unsteady, letting your true self show.
The air was thick with expectation, hopes woven fine and tight,
But fate’s hand dealt a card that night, a play of sheer delight.
The first sound came, bold and brash, a trumpet’s clear refrain,
Echoed in the quiet room, a ripple through the strain.
You stood, a statue caught in time, wishing for retreat,
Yet nature’s symphony continued, unyielding and discreet.
The second note, a whisper soft, a breeze so faint and shy,
A secret shared with open air, a hushed and gentle sigh.
Eyes widened, cheeks a crimson hue, embarrassment on display,
A delicate misstep in the dance, a cloud in the light of day.
A quiet gust, a fleeting breath, unnoticed if you dare.
But in the hush, a knowing glance, a fleeting, shared surprise,
In moments caught so tenderly, truth seldom wears disguise.
The final breeze, a ghostly wisp, completed nature’s jest,
A whisper in the stillness, leaving hearts to guess.
In that room of first encounters, where hearts entwine with care,
A story etched in memory, a moment all would share.
I wish you the best and greatest year!
I wish you a better year.
