tl;dr Chucklefish is a horrible, money-blind publisher that should be removed from Steam if it held any ethical backbone(but the almighty dollar told Steam not to). Do not support them by purchasing their games.

Charging $10 for a performance patch.. It was a fun game, but it's clearly just a money-grab attempt to nickel and dime consumers.

4/10
Very active, but all but significant disadvantage for new players against those that are properly geared. 100+ hours of grinding is required to get even get a fair fight in a 1v1 against P2P players.

I avoided this game because of the release of it. You all remember "A sense of pride and accomplishment." We all do. I only got this because it was on sale for $20 and did some research. Turns out they've removed micro transactions from the game completely, and now you only gain an advantage over other players through playing the game.

Overall, it's a 7/10 for me. It's a fun Battlefield game, but the customization doesn't feel as solid as it could be, and some there's not many modes to play. I'd like a couple more types to add to variety, but it's still fun overall.

Update! It's 4 months later, and the lobbies are pretty empty. There's usually just one match running, and -surprise surprise- it is full, which means you'll sit in the lobby with a couple others, unable to start because there are not enough players. Considering this issue, I'd have liked to see the developers allow empty lobby slots to be filled by AI players so that you can still play the game on slower nights. Sadly though, the developers have stated the game is exactly what they want it to be at, so no future updates. 4/10 for Dev's imagination, and I do not recommend buying any longer now that the main staple of the game is not playable without getting lucky.

Very engaging and great for a quick fix on FPS without the investment.

Do you like loading screens? Constant crashing of games? This 5 year beta turned microtransaction CTD game is for you!

This one of those games you hear about that open to Early Access and then drop the game as soon as they get some money from it. These developers should be blacklisted by companies as con artists. This game should be taken down from Steam.

Edit: I can't really be bothered to write a full new review this year - I played it again to check in on it and here's the short of it: It has not improved, it is has bugs than the year prior, it is still only designed to twist you by the arm to pay them money for superficial improvements. My only noteworthy change of opinion is that it is no longer worth buying when on sale, this is an AVOID.

Another year, another update to my GTA V review!

Single player has not been touched since the game was released, but it is still one of the best story lines I know. The Online portion has been updated time and time again with a lot of content, and they've even now cut down on the time it takes for the hundreds of loading screens(I previous referred to this as Loading Screen Simulator).

But then there's the hacking. Rockstar does not care if hackers make playing online impossible by spawning you in the middle of the sky constantly so you keep falling to your death, or block you in with random wall spawns in the middle of the desert. They made it an point to tell players directly in Q&As that they have no intention to deal with hackers even if they are causing your game to crash..

But they WILL permaban any hacker that is found giving out free money to people - usually within 24 hours! The reason for this is because Rockstar doesn't care about your experience - you already paid for the game. The only thing they care about now is that making money is so tedious, that you are inclined to buy their Shark Cards(real money for in-game money). Anyone who reduces their Shark Card buying is seen as the ONLY problem they care about.

Do not recommend buying unless on sale, but above all else, please do not support a cash grab attempt like Shark Cards. Genuinely worse than EA.

It's been four years since I last reviewed this game - time for an updated opinion.

The development team dipped their toes into microtransactions and upset the community, they learned from it, and redeemed themselves with those safes now being free-to-open. Over the last few years they've given us free outfits, weapon skins, maps, and now.. gloves?

Back in 2016, they announced they would start work on PD3 sometime soon, but that they promised to keep supporting through 2017. It's been THREE years since what they promised and they are still rolling out new ideas and content for us. This is a dev team that knows a happy player base is willing to put out a few extra dollars for a small amount of content they know they'll love, and they know will help support Overkill in future games.

Now the game. Think Left 4 Dead, but with cops that shoot at you. There are special cops that can take you down if you aren't careful, but most of them you just gotta aim for the head. Incredible levels of customization between skill trees and weapons causing synergies, to trying to decide what kind of suit goes better with your custom designed masks. I have spent so much time on this game, but I plan to spend so much more.

Dev team 9/10, Game 10/10

Completely ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ empty DLC. I genuinely didn't even realize the DLC was released, as it is only a few extra items ontop of the settlement system that is already in place.

Never purchase this. Ever.
