One of the best 2D platformers available on this platform. Really tight and responsive controls, simple, but touching story, that balances being dark and sad with a great amount of humor, and really neat world building. Overall, just a very well-rounded underrated game that everyone with even a passing interest in platformers should try!

Beat main game in this amount of time.
Honestly, really fun game, I normally don't really like arcady games that force you to do long sections deathless, but this game gives you a way to practice and start at whichever boss you'd like, once you have it unlocked, which is fire.

Neat concept of beating bosses powers up enemies instead of the player, and ups the ante with (more? or harder) enemy spawns, higher boss HP or just extra spawns during fights.

Last segment of the game felt a lil underwhelming personally, when it comes to gameplay, but the small chunk of story the game had to offer felt really sick.

I'll probably update this review after doing NG+, but for just regular ending, I'd honestly recommend this game as a short and fairly challenging experience!

Fun, more of what the base game has to offer, with some new gimmicks, and quirky puzzles. Most of them, being around the same difficulty of base game.
Simple, really enjoyable mechanics and shapes, satisfying solutions.

As a person who's favorite part of the main game were the multi-solution puzzles, I was kinda disappointed by this DLC.
It has good amount of puzzles, and a lot of them have 3-5 solutions, which is nice, but they just either feel tedious due to the amount of times you have to solve a puzzle that has 20+ elements, and 2 or 3 solutions are always SUPER obvious from the first look, or borderline lunatic, with some of the solutions. For any% basic completion, this DLC is alright, if you want to 100% it, the hint button will be your best friend (although, at the time of writing this, 1 level seems to be bugged and not letting me do an alternate solution, maybe I'm just missing something).

For comparison, I 100%ed the other DLC without any issues, and did the entire main game without hints, and only used 1 for 100% stars, with the key puzzle, where you have to solve them by the number at the bottom of the keys . There's a lot more alternate solutions like that in this DLC, which I didn't really enjoy personally.

This DLC also introduces a feature where you can interact with certain items, to change their shape, which the game sometimes fails to communicate, resulting in you trying to fit the "incorrect" puzzle pieces into place. Alternatively, you click to interact with an object on accident, third of the time you want to just move it. Feels like either a separate button, or maybe double click to activate could've been used instead.

Another thing I kind of wanted to touch on, is that some objects snap to your mouse in a way, where your cursor ends up covering the "important" part of said object, first example that comes to mind are the key chains of the whistles in the whistle level, resulting in you having to put down pieces while organizing them, to remember what type of piece they are. Similarly, the play area around some levels could've been sliiightly bigger, although this is just a minor gripe, and din't make the overall experience really much worse.

Solutions for quite a few puzzles feel just uninspired, or very basic repetition of what the base game already gave you, with just different coat of paint, which, isn't necessarily a bad thing, but to me, doesn't justify the almost 10€ price tag.

If you REALLY want to support the devs, don't mind a mildly frustrating experience (again, talking as somebody who tends to 100% a puzzle before moving onto the next one), want something that is (for me) fairly more challenging that the base game, and just more of the same gameplay that you're used to (with just longer time to solve puzzles a lot of the time), buy the DLC. I personally, don't feel super satisfied after finishing this one compared to the other 2 content packs that this game has to offer.

Game's genuinely amazing!
The amount of skill expression the combat system allows is simply amazing, and I'd highly recommend it to anyone, who's seeking a great challenge!
Game's story is also, REALLY solid, with a lot of dialogues making me think about stuff outside the game, even after finishing it.

For people looking for Hollow Knight 2, who got through the game by "abusing" shade cloak, this game's maybe not the best for you. You start with invincibility dash / dodge roll, and the combat system is built around your character having this ability, so using it, to "cheese" enemy attacks is not really that viable.
Instead, this game has a WONDERFUL parry system, where it distinguishes between perfect parries, that completely block out all damage, and regular parries, that are a slightly more lenient timing, that leaves you with "internal damage". For you to heal this damage up, you have to continue avoiding enemy attacks without getting hit, and by hitting perfect parries.

Healing is really fast, so the enemies can afford to be REALLY punishing for even slightest of misplays, which makes the flow of combat in this game just perfect. I'd say this game is a love letter to people who enjoyed Sekiro, Hollow Knight, and honestly, even the deflect system from game's like Katana Zero. (Especially if you played K0 without time slowdown).

Graphics, Music, and sound design in this game are also pure joy. All artists and designers did an AMAZING job with the amount of polish and detail everywhere.

For the metroidvania, and explorations fans, this game also doesn't disappoint. There are rewards, secrets, and knick knacks hidden about everywhere around the map, and curiosity and interaction with the game's world is GREATLY rewarded. This, however is not completely easy to do, as there's some fairly tough platforming, and enemies in your way, and your healing resource in this game, only refreshes at save points, so there's also great amount of risk and reward.

For people who want to experience this game, without any of it's difficulty, there's a Story Mode, which I haven't played personally, but it allows for tweaking for damage numbers, so the atmosphere, music, art and story can be experienced by pretty much anyone.

I'd highly recommend this game to pretty much anyone who doesn't mind difficult bossfights, getting ego checked by regular enemies several times over and over, and some fairly difficult platforming and reflex tests.
Definitely worth full price + there's the soundtrack, for those who want to support the devs even more. ^^

Game's good! If you enjoyed the original you'll LOVE this one, if you haven't play the original, some story beats from this game won't make as much sense / won't hold as much value as they would if you did, but it doesn't really detract from the experience. Also, if you ever planned on playing the original, now's the time since this game spoils some of the major story elements from that game. As a sequel tho, this game goes above and beyond compared to many other sequels.
