The game isn't difficult or interesting.

Wow, this has been one of the worst purchases I’ve made in recent years. So much so that I am writing this review, which I hardly ever do unless it's for a little meme. Starbase seems like fun at the surface but once you start uncovering many of its "mechanics" you start to dread for what's in store. I love space games especially if they have building aspects (i.e. Avorion). However, the way that Starbase handles the progression system and funny enough the building aspect of the game are stroke inducing. I didn't know this at first, but the research tree was recently introduced and makes the game crawl at a snail's pace. The amount of time and resources you put into researching to get even the most basic of things for your ship (cockpit chairs, windows, mining lasers, etc.) makes the game’s fun factor go into the negatives. The other wonderful gameplay aspects that Starbase offers is:

-Soft locking so you can't add on to your ship anymore (Great addition for a game where you build ships). This can be fixed but resetting and doing tutorial over. But when you've gone through the tutorial roughly 5 times it gets very old quick.
-Ability to accidently delete the hot bar. Not the best decision from the devs to add this as a second option when right clicking the hot bar to edit it.
-Physics that seem like they’re out of Garry’s Mod. This adds to the charm of Garry’s Mod but not a game like this.
-Bleak open world with little to no player interactions.
-Part snap in features only working when it feels like it.

Please don’t buy this game lol

First TF2, then CS:GO, and now PayDay2. WHY.

It looked like it was going to be fun but became a buggy mess.
