Here's the issue: People are freaking out over the fact that there's not really much more content in the game than there was at the time of initial release on Early Access (and in some cases, there's even a bit less).

That being said, I don't doubt that they've spent hundreds of hours optimizing the game and fixing various bugs. In ArmA 3 Exile or ArmA 2 DayZ, it's not uncommon for me to average between 30 and 45 FPS, but in this game, I consistently get between 85 and 130 FPS. Further, there are countless other bugs that were a regular part of any ArmA mod, but I've yet to encounter them in DayZ.

I don't think it's fair to the developers who have given years of their life working towards perfecting this game, to bombard them with poor reviews because there aren't quite as many features as we remember the mod we loved having. The vast majority of people hammering them with negative reviews are looking at the original DayZ mod through rose-tinted glasses--forgetting the countless hours we spent "getting ArmA'd," or having little features work improperly.

DayZ is far from a perfect game, but it's also light-years ahead of the mod we all played "back in the day." Don't let your nostalgia ruin what is currently a very playable, enjoyable game in its current state.

tl;dr: Do I recommend this game? Absolutely.
