Regarding recent popular reviews: The small playerbase is fine. It's a great game even though there are players far better than you because most people are honorable and won't stack teams.

The gameplay is unique, with some small quirks and poor balance or implementation. Ship to ship cannon combat is unique except for sea of thieves, greatly rewarding, and overall well built. Boarding combat is less balanced, with melee in particular being pretty bad. The gamemodes available are interesting and all pretty different from eachother.

Final note: Don't let this game die! It'd be a real shame, while Blackwake has it's faults, bugs or issues.

Even for the price of free, this game cost me too much.

While my time with zero-k has been somewhat short, this game has allowed me to smash my friends in such a fun way. Definently would recommend

Mechanically cohesive, thematically terrifying and honestly the perfect party game. If you have friends who own this and you're able to play together this game will become a library staple. Random lobbies are anywhere from chaos to hardcore roleplay depending on the host, but most servers have an active admin watching out for any kos/rdm.

Wow. Just wow. This was excellent, one of the best mysteries i've ever played through, just amazing.

Sure Obsidian, i'll pay $12 for something you can find in the games files for free, but only because I love you.

Several weird difficulty spikes and slippery movement makes this game maybe a 7/10 for the modern times.

It was fun for two playthroughs. Don't spend $10, wait for sale.

Add a tutorial. It's such an important step. The art is awesome and it looks cool but I can't seem to understand the game.

This game will ♥♥♥♥ sometimes. Sometimes the AI will be rude, and stomp you so early. Sometimes your friends will rush you, and make the game no fun at all. But then other times, you'll have a fight you don't think you can win. The odds are against you, seeming insurmountable. Then, you'll catch a break. A vulnerability in the enemy will make itself apparent, and if you grab it, exploit it, and turn it to your advantage, you can take the upper hand. There is nothing as satisfying as starting the round as the underdog, beaten up on by your opponent, and ending it by smashing those who hurt you to teeny tiny little bits.

Lesson being: Losing will set you free. Each loss is just another reason to win. Another strategy gained from your enemy. Another weapon in your arsenal in the next fight. And, eventually, that next fight will come that you can use all of those losses to turn into a win.
