I am not claiming to be a speedrunner etc. I just play games for fun. As for myself, games should be entertaining, maintaining a difficulty level that is not so easy to bore, and not so difficult as to make the player reconsider why they are playing.
Roughly speaking, there are two ways games keep the tempo imo

1) sprinkling easier "break" intervals between the real challenges.
2) keeping a moderate level of difficulty throughout the game

The first 6 chapters were really good in this regard. But chapters 7 and 8 have long sequences that makes you reconsider your existence (not joking Madeline). I wish the devs put either checkpoints, or gave us some of those breaks. I like to play games for hours nonstop when I have time so I don't like resting when I am just stuck (ironically resting is recommended). These are true for Pico8 as well, which doesn't have any checkpoints, and also any option to turn off the music. The parts I talked about may have a high learning curve which I don't prefer for a game. I just don't have time due to work, chaotically did my best and it worked lmao.

Imo the songs are enjoyable to listen to, but they exhaust you after some time (maybe elevator music lmao?). So I played the game without the songs, or with chill songs like lofi etc. Farewell is my favorite that I listen to it in my daily life (when I am not playing the game ofc).

Tbh aside the parts that I talked about, the game is really good, but in overall I think I liked the game.

P.S: If you want to expertise in the game, it is open to modding with lots of customizations like new maps, speedrun tools etc.

The game is a really good platformer, but it crashed 50000 times on my system.

Music and story was really cool. As far as I know processes such as drawing shading coloring make the product labor-demanding,so I appreciate the effort put in. At first, dialogs may bore the player a bit, but as they progress in game things start to get different. The only thing is that few routes to be taken account as cons.

From my standpoint, the game could have been better if the characters were located on a single huge map (free roam game I want it to be)

its a pretty nice episode except the rate drops towards the end(Dramatic rate drops I am talking about dips down to about one fourth).
