I've played a lot of open-world games, all with great control and gameplay. Games like GTA V, 7 Days To Die, No Man's Sky, Fallout 4, and a lot more. I am trying to figure out how they made this game, and yet they clearly have never played GTA V or any other similar game. The only thing that lets me to believe that they did play GTA V is you have to go to bed to save your game, just like in GTA V. For the record, I got this game on sale for 90% off, so it was $1.99. If you can get it on sale like I did, that's about the best price you can get.

CONTROLS
What were they thinking? You have to use a controller to play this game, and yet certain situations allow you to use the keyboard. You can interact with items and objects with the keyboard, but walking, driving, and camera control are all done with a controller. Why? This is why I am curious if they have ever played GTA V, or any other similar game. Why did you make a PC game with little keyboard controls? When using a controller, the right analog controls the throttle and break while also controlling the camera direction, while the left analog controls the steering and camera angle. How the hell are you supposed to drive like that? The most common thing about any driving game is that the camera automatically follows the car. That does not happen in this game, you have to control the camera at the same you are driving. Why?

GAMEPLAY
Once you can get past the completely confusing controls, it's not a completely bad game. The game itself has a lot of potential. However, because the game was made in August of 2021, it doesn't show any signs of it being up dated anytime soon. If this game was still in early access, perhaps. The idea is it's a relaxing game of "do whatever you want". Buy clothes, homes, cars, and then walk around the island doing stuff, such as shooting crabs, chests, and anything else that can be shot at. You can buy cars ranging from a family car to a tank, monster truck, sports car, and a few more. You can also upgrade your car at the garage. (Caution, not all cars can be upgraded) Guns range from AK-47 in various colors to other various times of machine guns... in various colors. (There's really not that big of a selection, it just looks like there is) You also have to make sure you get the right ammo for the gun you purchase. (For the record, I couldn't figure out how to equip the gun, let alone use the guns... yet.) You can also purchase boats to travel on water to other smaller islands around the major big island. You can also purchase a few homes, but they all look the same inside. There's also a casino if you're feeling lucky and gain casino skills.

Now, along with this, there's a few other odd things that happen in this game. They designed the game so you can tan from being out in the sun. You can either purchase suntan oil to protect you from the sun, or you can get tanning oil to tan your skin. This is an interesting feature for a game.

The only big issue I have, outside the controls, is the stamina bar. At the lower left side of the screen you will see 3 bars. The strength bar, energy bar, and stamina bar. The first 2 are pretty straight forward and I can understand how it fits. The stamina bar I hate because you use it so quickly and takes forever to recover stamina in this game. You mostly use it up when you run.

OVERALL
It's not a completely awful game, but I am really confused as to why you made a PC game where you need analog controllers for this game instead of keyboard. Not saying there's anything wrong with that, but because it's a PC game, why not set the controls like in GTA V or 7 Days To Die. Follow other games example. I get you're trying to be different and unique, but there's nothing unique if the game itself is half broken or confusing. As mentioned, if you can get this game on sale for 90% off, get it, but even then you are better off spending your $2 on something else. Other wise, it's not worth the headache. I only reason I say "NAY" is because, although it has potential, it really needs to be polished and fixed... a lot. Whatever the programmers/devs were thinking, It's not the right way to make this game. Also, please fix the language, 50% of the game is not in english.

There are many "Final Fight" clones out there. Some are good, some are bad. Many titles that have come out are woth playing and we all remember these titles, such as...

Streets Of Rage
Battletoads (Arcade)
Knights Of The Round
Golden Axe
X-Men 6 Player Arcade
The Simpsons (Arcade)

And many more. This is one of those games that's actually good and worth playing.

Graphics
This is an interesting use of digitized graphics. Instead of making cartoon or drawn out characters, they used live action characters and digitized them into the game, both as players, NPC's, objects, explosions, and backgrounds. The animations are smooth and work pretty well for a "Final Fight" clone. Becuase of the graphic nature of this game, it includes graphic gore and violence, great for those of you who hunger for blood and violence. It's interesting that they used "OpenBOR" to program this entire game.

Gameplay
It's your typical "Final Fight" clone. You play as 1 of various characters in the game. You move your character around with the arrow keys and you attack using the attack button (Default is "A" on keyboard) in combination with the jump button (Default is "D" on keyboard) and block button (Default is "F" on keyboard). You can make your character run by pressing FORWARD x2 and holding the direction. While the character is running, you can press the attack button for a running attack. You and also do a quick dodge by pressing UP x2 or DOWN x2 and you will dodge up or down to get out of the way of your enemies. This is especially helpful if you're surrounded by enemies and you need to get some distance.

Along with regular attacks, you can do special commands to do more powerful attacks. Such special attacks include, but not limited to...

DOWN, FORWARD, A = Power Attack 1
FORWARD, DOWN, A = Power Atatck 2

These are just examples. There's more moves to find so experiment with the controls.

As you play, you will notice 2 bars next to your characters icon at the top of the screen. The green bar is your health, while the purple bar is your special. Every time you use one of your special moves mentioned above, this bar gets used up. It will recharge itself slowly, so it's not like you are limited to one time use. Use this to your advantage as you attack your enemies.

One thing to keep in mind is that each character you play has their own strengths and weaknesses, as well as have their own attack styles and special moves. No 2 characters attack the same and no 2 characters have the same special moves. Practice with each one to see which character you might like. (Special report, beating the game unlocks additional characters as well as play as one of the boss characters in the game.)

As you get into the game, you will find items or weapons to pick up. Items include, but not limited to...

apples (Gives you health back)
shotgun (Gives you a shotgun with limited ammo)
knives (Using these will stun the enemies)
molotovs (Although useful, they are dangerous to you as well)

And many more items to find and use. Some of the items come from fallen enemies while others can be found by breaking objects in the game. Be careful, enemies can also pick up these items and use them against you as well.

In between the fighting action scenes, there's also shooting scenes where you use the arrow keys to aim your target on enemies and shoot them with the action ("A") button. Most enemies take 3-5 shots to kill. Be careful not to shoot innocent people. If you can avoid shooting hostages, they will thank you by healing you.

There's also quite a few secrets to find in the game, so play around to find them.

Overall
A very interesting action game using digitized graphics to make a good "Final Fight" clone. This also includes a training mode so you can practice your characters attacks to learn their skills and abilities. You can also use either keyboard or controller. If you need to change the controls, you can configure the settings to use either keyboard or controller and set the controls as you need to.

(I'm updating my review to reflect the current updates since it's been a while. Plus, some emulators have been fixed and work better now and new cores have come out since my last review.)

Retro Arch is an emulation program that can do a good selection of gaming console engines. I want to point out right away, if you do not know what an emulator is or you don't know anything about emulation, then it's best if you move on. Yes, it's a free program, but that's what this is, a program, not a game. This does not include any games. So if you are not familiar with RetroArch or other similar programs, move on or do research.

I say this because this is not something you can just install and get into right away, you have to be very knowledgeable about ROMs, BIOS, CORES, and how this program configures games, controllers, graphics, and how they work.

Now with the added DOS-BOX emulation core, this will be great for those who know how to use it. I am such a DOS fan that I still own tons of DOS games from floppies to CD-ROM. It will be neat to see how Windows 3.1/95/98 will work on this. Would be interesting to see if I can get some other DOS related ROMs and applications to work, such as OS-2/Warp, QEMM, and even see if certain TSR's will work.

(If you have no clue what DOS-BOX Is, please do some research.)

I've managed to test quite a few games for every console/handheld system and overall works pretty good with a few exceptions...

1.) = Some emulators can be a bit glitchy with certain ROMs. Expect this when you try to play any ROM, old or new.

2.) = You pretty much have to pre-configure most of the options if you want the games to work correctly.

3.) = Retro Arch does require a bit of knowledge to get started as setting up the games can be tricky. You have to understand how cores and bios works and knowledge of it's purpose. Plus, cores and bios require to be in a folder of the main program to work properly. Games also require to be "added" to the list so that the program can know how they function.

This program can do the following types of console...

Arcade (It uses Final Burn as it's core, I much prefer MAME)
Gameboy
Gameboy Color
Gameboy Advance
Game Gear
Nintendo 64 (Overall works good, couple games glitched, but I expected that)
Nintendo Entertainment System
Playstation (Possible bios required, if you don't know how to use a bios, move on)
Playstation 2 (Possible bios required)
Sega Dreamcast (This actually works really well, I was surprised)
Sega Genesis (Cart, 32x, and CD)
Sega Master System - Mark III
Super Nintendo
Turbo Graphx 16 (Card And CD)
MS-DOS

And more. I am sure they are going to update the cores as they also update the system.

The main thing i don't like about this is the whole menu system. It makes no sense and getting around the menu/interface can be a bit confusing at first. Especially for people who don't know how this program works. Plus, there are better emulation programs out there and work a lot better and actually less buggy. Almost every other multi-emulator has a better working Playstation than this.

My only concern is that emulation is becoming an issue with companies and I have been around emulation long enough to know it's issues as well as the problems it represents. In case you're not aware, although running an emulator is not illegal, owning bios and ROMs is illegal. (Unless you own the actual cartridge or disc) I am a little surprised Steam is allowing such devices on their gaming platform as they are suppose to be about legalities and copyright protection.

It's not a bad emulation program, but there are better ones out there. I recommend you do some searching around and check them out. About the only plus side is you can upload your own screen shots since it's part of the Steam family.

Another issue is that it's very fussy about the ROM formats. Unless the ROM's are a "proper" format, Retroarch will not read the ROM's correctly and games will not work. Example, if a Playstation game is in ISO or CUE/BIN format, it will read the file pretty good (For the most part), it will not read Playstation games if they are in CHD format. This also includes other gaming systems which use the CD/DVD format such as SEGA CD, Turbo Grafx 16, Dreamcast, etc.

If you are familiar with emulation, overall it works good, just be ready for a few systems to be glitchy until they can patch it or update the cores. Overall we will see where this goes and how long this will last.

Some advice for people who might have an issue while playing a ROM and still new to RetroArch...

1.) When using MAME/ FinalBurn, if the program kicks you back out when you try to run the ROM, or if you get an error message, it's usually because the ROM you are loading is what's called a "Bad Dump", meaning the ROM is missing a file or the whole ROM itself is made wrong. So if you try to play an arcade game, and it's not working, you need to download/get a working ROM.

2.) This is also true for consoles, such as Playstation, SNES, SEGA Genesis. If you get a ROM that doesn't load correctly, most cases, you got a bad ROM. Not all sites offer working ROMs, so make sure to test your games when you download them.

3.) Don't be too upset when you play a title that is a "HACK" and it quits working. Those usually tend to be glitchy. They are not intended to function properly with an emulator. This is not to say that "HACKed" ROMs are bad, they just tend to not work as good as the original game/title.

Wow. I was seriously disappointed with this game. I managed to beat this game in 12 minutes. All you get is a silly little sex moment at the end explained in text and then the option to undress her in the gallery. I would have thought (thot) that maybe there might be 6 girls in this game or possible 6 different poses for this one girl. Not the case. Just one girl with her one pose animation. This game should have been a DEMO or FREE game, not a paid game.

Pros = Good artwork
Cons = EXACTLY!!! Buying this game "IS" a con.

Cyberpunk 2077 is GTA V in the future with cybernetic enhancement abilities, weapons ranging from pistol to powerhouse rifles, and a storyline that's not that impressive.

When I first got this game, I figured wow, they are doing something right. Sadly it's more like they just wanted to push a game that had a famous actor on it and push it out the door.

There's so many things wrong with this game. One of them being how glitchy the game can be. I've managed to actually walk through what was suppose to be solid objects, such as platforms on rooftops that should be able to walk on, but I've managed to actually pass through them thinking "What, what happened?". I've also managed to fall through some roof tops where I saw the "Abyss Of Forever" in many directions. I was literally able to see through the entire world without roads, lands, bridges or buildings. I even took screen shots to prove it.

The map size is also a bit lacking. Most other "Open World" games have so much more to offer as far as visuals, locations, and even landscapes. Compared today, there are so much bigger and better games with bigger open worlds in comparison to this game. Overall it offers enough variety, but it needs so much more.

With the newest update, there's now some homes you can purchase and make your own. (Originally, there was only 1 home you could go to) You also have a pretty good selection of your own vehicles to find and purchase throughout the game, ranging from various cars, trucks, offroad, and even a couple motorcycles. Course, you can also steal a car if you're feeling criminal and need to get to your location quickly.

The only plus side, there's plenty of mods to help enhance the game as well as enhance people, cars, weapons, and even a way to change their color on the fly. There's also graphical enhancements to make the game more realistic and even better skins to have a more natural look to the NPC's and players. There's even enhancements to improve the lighting, colors, and even the day/night cycle.

Overall not a bad game, but you will not like the story they have presented. I have not beaten the game yet, but from what I heard, the ending is not worth it. So the only reason you would get the game is just for it's fun aspect and moding, not for the main story line.

Early Access Review
(Before I begin, I am fully aware this is still in Early Access, so anything I am posting is just to let people know who don't have this game, what to expect. As the game updates, I will update my review.)

I've played a lot of "survival" games ranging from "7 Days To Die" to "No Man's Sky". This is one of those games that's all about survival and fighting.

The Game
The game plays similar to a lot of games that's out already, such as Skyrim, 7 Days To Die, and Fallout. If you're familiar with those games, you will get the hang of this game quickly. You start out using your fists and eventually learn how to make items, weapons, and materials through the use of crafting. You can gather things like wood, leather, and stone, to help you craft items. Later on, you will be able to craft more advanced items when you find better quality materials. You also have to face the harsh lands with wild animals, monsters, and even bosses. Items you craft have a very limited use as the durability will decay the items with each use.

You travel on a very huge open world with trees, grass, water, and once in a while, buildings and structures which you can use to your advantage. Some places offer a chest you can use, while others just offer you a place to sit or sleep. On the map screen, you can add markers to help you find places you visited before and will be added to your save file for future use.

You will also have to deal with harsh weather/temperature conditions as you progress through the game. At night, it gets cold so you must be ready to either make a camp fire, or keep yourself warm by crafting clothes. You can also become wet when it rains or when you swim in water. (technically I have not seen it rain, but guessing it can)

You can also decide if you want to make your own dedicated server, or join one in progress, or just play a simple single player game for your own enjoyment. You can also choose to design your world through the seed builder as well as naming your world.

The Issues
Although the game is Early Access, here are the issues I have ran into so far as of this post...

1.) Items you make seriously don't last long at all, each use lowers it's durability fast.
2.) Combat was, although pretty straight forward, also had issues. You can only attack based on the direction of your camera angle. So if your character is facing right, but your camera is facing forward, you will only attack forward, no matter what.
3.) You do not gain experience points, where as you gain skills/abilities through progress. The more you punch, the more powerful your punch attack will be and use less stamina. Same goes for other skills you gain. This is actually a good thing, as the concept of RPG games is based on Experience Points from Combat and then skills gained from Leveling Up. We will see how this fairs with other Open World RPG games.
4.) Graphics looked like they could be seriously improved. I felt like I was playing a game from 2005 on a Playstation 2. Although to be fair, the graphics were very smooth.

Pro's
1.) HUGE open world to play on, like WORLD huge
2.) Lots of items to find so far (Technically, noticed a small handful of items to make)
3.) Plenty of enemies to find and fight
4.) Plenty of resources to get from wood to animal hide
5.) Plenty of food to find
6.) Good use of ambient colors and mood lighting

Con's
1.) Not really a whole lot you can do at this time
2.) Although it's possible to start off in a good area, it's also possible to start off in a bad area
3.) I found an item that requires DLC to be installed. Guessing they planning additional DLC
4.) Camera angles could also be worked on
5.) Why did I see a huge tree branch in the sky that didn't show where the tree is coming from?
6.) Can only play as a human at the moment, perhaps more will be added

Understand that this game is still being updated and there's not much to do... "YET", so I will update my review based on the update to the game. The world generator is fantastic and I love that the world is really huge. So far, I do like what I see, despite my complaints about this game. Who knows, maybe this will be a great game when the full game is released.

Early Access Review
(I'm updating my review to meet with the new updates)

Ever since I first saw this game years ago, I was very skeptical about how far they were going to update this game. At first it was pretty simple and not very much to go on. Map size was very limited to a small area with "some" degree of climate and environment changes. Plus, the maps were originally surrounded by an atomic forest which killed you nearly instantly. Gameplay was overall not bad, but still very limited in scope and overall as a whole.

Now, after over 9 years (as of writing this review), the game has progressed greatly with better maps, better gear, better crafting, and even vehicles to make. Even making your own maps for future use is a great plus. This way, you can make, design, and update the map with the editing tools it comes with.

7 Days To Die is a single/multi player survival game about fighting zombies and surviving the harsh environments and using natural resources to make tools, weapons, and even vehicles to stay alive. It's all about trying to think ahead and plan a way to keep yourself alive from hordes of zombies.

I love this game mainly because it's literally pure sandbox survival. Anything that exists on a wall, the floor, ceiling, counter, table, even air vents and air-conditioners, all can be created through the use of building. There's no one way to stay alive, you have to change your tactics based on how the world is set up. You could be living in a rich forest area, which is almost the best kind to survive in, and start by building a log cabin. You could also start out in the waste-land which has very little resources to survive on, but thriving with zombies.

Pro's
1.) Just about anything can be built through the use of crafting or use of proper tools
2.) Survival isn't just about killing zombies, you have to eat, drink, and build
3.) Traders located in various locations, to trade goods for money and buy other goods
4.) Design 4 possible vehicles (For now)
5.) Create any world you can think of and even update it by adding more buildings
6.) Gain experience from fighting zombies, reading books, etc.
7.) Use skill points to gain additional skills to build items and even use upgrades
8.) Practice healing, repairing, and fixing damage done to yourself when you get hurt
9.) Gain resources, either by plants, trees, or even tearing down objects for scrap
10.) Add, repair, and upgrade walls, floors, and other damaged items using proper tools
11.) A very good selection of weapons to make, so you're not stuck with a pea-shooter
12.) Add additional upgrades to your weapons, items, clothes, and armor for more abilities
13.) Everything has a use in the game, don't assume rocks or scrap can't be useful
14.) Play in either single player, or have friends join you and survive together
15.) Maps can be small or extremely huge, GTA V's maps can't compare
16.) It's even possible to build underground tunnels
17.) Very useful debugging tools
18.) They keep updating structures and buildings
19.) Now buildings have a difficulty rating which is shown as you enter the property
20.) National parks how have deep caves

Con's
1.) They removed a few items you can make originally in this version
2.) Draw distance and refresh rate can be a bit sluggish
3.) Not a lot of vehicles to make, but it's not like you need a sports car (Or... do you?)
4.) Would be interesting to see this as VR
5.) Why is this game still in Early Access?

(Okay, for a game that's been out for nearly 10 years, you would think there would be some kind of "Final Update" or at least a starting update. It's not like this game is terrible or extremely broken, and I have rarely ever gotten crashes. Part of the problem was they updated the zombie AI too much, because the devs didn't seem to like it when we designed ways of focusing zombies to come attack us. Plus, until recently, they didn't design additional content nor updated items we could make. They spent more time making the zombies harder to kill that we continued to find better ways to kill the zombies as they updated the AI. There was a youtube video addressing this very issue. Focus on content and overall development of the game, the rest will fall into place. Let us have our fun and creativity. Once you have a working game, you can update the game as needed. This is just a personal view as well as personal opinion on this matter.)

Overall
A very spine chilling game where you need to learn skills fast and build your defenses to stay alive. Understand that game play is not just limited to killing zombies or even being scary, you can set the game so there's no zombies, so you can practice first on how the game works and then move on to harder settings.

Suggestions For The Dev's
1.) Maybe make a few more vehicles, since you see them around the world
2.) Allow to make a bus, pickup, family car, or maybe a speedy sports car

If you're familiar with such games as "Space Engineers", "Empyrion", or other 3D builder type games, you will enjoy this game. More and more games are starting to steer towards building and interactivity to allow for more deeper interaction with the story line or the game itself.

Even though they are still updating this game, there's enough here to get you started. The following features include, but not limited to...

1.) Designing ships any way you want, big or small, heavy or light
2.) Lots of blocks and shapes to give your designed more detail
3.) Weapons range from guns to torpedoes
4.) Mine asteroids to gain items and materials to either sell or use for your own personal use
5.) Access missions ranging from simple mining to space combat
6.) Play by yourself, or have others join you online for a full fleet
7.) Interact with other ships to trade, gain access to missions, or just to inform

I'm a huge fan of building games and this is one I have enjoyed so far. We shall see where this game goes as they progress further into updating.

Uh, I can't believe this game was cancelled. No wonder SEGA couldn't keep going in the console wars. You cancel games that would have worked, make games that we didn't like, and then you show us something we could have had, but won't finish. The only reason I gave a thumbs up is because the game itself was fine. SEGA needs to learn from their mistakes and capitalize on it. Re-selling your "SEGA AGES" games won't make you much more money than it has now.

I realize I only played about 15 minutes of this game, and yeah, it's free. But seriously, not much originality. They may as well just make the characters digitized with live actors and then plaster the maps with digitized background images. The developer didn't make much effort in changing the voices or the map style. Even if the maps, characters, weapons look different, it's still just the original Street Of Rage 2 just with remade images/sprites.

This game is the reason why I don't enjoy hacks. Just a thought, if you plan to make another one, make your own maps, voices, and weapons. This is the same reason why most of us don't buy games made with RPG Maker.

Is it free? Yes.
Is it fun? From a certain point of view, perhaps.
Are you better off playing the original Streets OF Rage 2? Yes, definitely.

Why would you prefer to play Streets Of Rage 2?
For one thing, the original Streets Of Rage 2 doesn't take up 30+ megs of space.
Better characters to choose from
You're pretty much playing the same game with the same maps

If you're on a budget, I could understand getting this game, but you won't get the same feel. Only get this game if you're just a die-hard fan.
