I'd like to pre-emptively state that I have literally been counting down the days to release. I was so excited for it! It's not really what I was expecting, however.

The art style is beautiful, and the world is colourful, carefully-constructed, and interesting to explore. Beyond that, though, the game feels a bit soulless. It's like they had a solid vision for the aesthetics and story, but didn't really put the same amount of planning into the actual gameplay.

Gathering is holding a button, and then waiting for it to respawn. Crafting is choosing your wanted item and then holding a button down, or waiting for it to finish. Most quests are craft and/or fetch quests.

Beyond the cute aesthetics, decent sound design, and nods to other titles in the "LoL Universe," I don't think this title has much lasting power, as is, and little to no replay value.

It is also definitely not worth full-price, IMO.

The first new content update, and, specifically the QoL changes, have almost completely fixed the few small gripes I've had with the game.

Crabs and Stargazers drop roe, now! Much more convenient!

You maybe don't have to visit the farm a minimum of 2x per day!

New creatures to discover, via crab pots! Neato.

More night-only fishies, to make night-fishing more meaningful!

Able to purchase seaweed seeds, directly from the seaweed farm! And an seaweed seed upgrade feature, at the original seed shop!

Look, it was already a great game. These changes just kick it up a notch. I am thoroughly enjoying the update. 🤗
