Rubick Brawl

Hey guys,

I was the developer of Rubick Brawl, which at the time was intended to be a replica of WC3 Warlock for Dota 2. When the original developers announced their development, I took a step back and thought it wasn't really worth continuing to develop the game.

However, Rubick Brawl is still by far the game I had the most fun developing. Granted it was at a time when a lot more people actively played custom games, but the Warlock concept and other physics-based games fit very well with Dota 2 compared to other genres. Thus I'm interested in making a spinoff of Warlock (ie not a replica). Some of the aspects that will be different compared to Warlock Brawl are:

• More fast paced. Rubick Brawl was a more fast paced game than Warlock, which a lot of people enjoyed.
  
• Much less emphasis on which skills you choose. There may not be a gold system, you may gain skillpoints based on how well you're playing your hero. Or as you level up your skills are picked for you. Either way in order for there to be constant action there needs to be less emphasis on making time-consuming strategic decisions.
  
• More chaotic, but in the good way this time. Rubick Brawl got quite chaotic at times to the point where you didn’t know what was going on on the screen.
  
• Different heroes with their own unique spells. Each hero will still have a couple of the same spells (ex. fireball).
  
• Melee heroes instead of all ranged.
  
• A more interesting/funky map, rather than just platform and lava.
  
• Global based spells (think Mario Kart where you can make everyone really tiny)
  
• Different heroes may tolerate the lava better than others.
  
• FFA-centric. Team games won’t be a priority in development.
  
  So essentially the only things this new game would inherit from Warlock Brawl are 1. Platform and platform shrinking (good area), 2. Lava/bad area, 3. Knockback
