I've disabled announcements because too many or one person with many accounts is abusing this. As we don't really use this group much anyway we don't have much reason for everyone having announcement permissions. For years nobody has abused it but seems I'm going to have to restrict it now.

I think you can trust people in this group. The people, person, or bot that did it only joined recently. We didn't have any incident for years before this (I think never before really).
