Community Gaming Division Now Open

The Community Gaming Division (DCG) is a new initiative that is going to be the new method for getting a brand new club started from within the Org. For full details about how the process works, read this article[www.darkjedi.org].

Basically, here's the deal. Anyone can submit a proposal to add support to a new game, or a new faction within an existing game, to the Chief of Gaming (who is supervising the DCG) for what you have in mind, and how you plan to make it work. You can't try to start something to support a game that is already the primary focus of an existing gaming division.

As long as the proposal sounds reasonable, a new Community Gaming Sector will be created within the DCG, with you in command of it. You will use the generic rank and award structure of the DCG and their comlink for the time being, but will get a sector page to use as your homepage, which will be customizable. The idea here is to have a new leader focus purely on the two most important things at that stage of development: playing the game, and recruitng a stable member base. You can still ask for and award ribbons, as though you were a full gaming division.

If the Sector is successful, takes off, and meets certain criteria, you will be lifted out of the DCG and given a full-fledged gaming division, with the full support of Web Design and Graphics to make it as pretty as you want and deserve. Profiles will be merged over into the new club from DCG, so that your ranks, awards, and ribbons are preserved, however at that point you can rename and redesign all of the ranks and awards to your liking.

If the Sector remains small and low population, but active, it is welcome to remain open in DCG indefinitely. It will be a new way for DJO to officially support small, niche gaming communities.

DJO Now Open to Outside Guilds Moving In

For the first time in our history, DJO is now going to allow pre-existing clubs from outside the Org to apply to move into our community.

If anyone plays in any other clubs on the side for games that we don't currently have any serious support for, or you have friends in another club that would benefit from being a part of our community, invite them in! Full details about moving in are on this Knowledge Base page[www.darkjedi.org].

Why would they want to move a club they're already paying for a site for to here? Well, for starters, we can probably provide them everything they're currently paying for, for free, and probably a bit more. They also get the benefits of a volunteer staff helping out with their design and setup, as well as a larger community to interact with and draw members from.

This is, of course, not a free-for-all; we will be very discriminating and expecting that anyone coming in are in line with our values and willing to adhere to the same code of conduct and forum rules as everyone else. As such, it will probably still be very few and far between when we adopt a club in, but we will see what happens.
