After Action Report
Today the Desert Task Force was engaged by Guerrilla forces along with the Russian Army. After two hours of fighting the desert Task Force was pushed back into the area surrounding their Main Base. Eventually friendly forces were pushed back into their base, and into their last stand positions. Seeing an opportunity to save my men, I ordered to HQ LAV to pack up, and be ready for transport. With the Main body of my forces on the perimeter I was forced to use DIRT Team Alpha to escort the HQ LAV to the South-East to an island to protect against the Russian and Guerrilla forces. I made radio contact with the perimeter guard as soon as the com-links were back online, just to find they were pinned down and surrounded by the enemy forces. I ordered them to use the 81mm mortars and 105mm howitzers to try to clear a path through the oncoming forces so that they could fall back and regroup at the new HQ, but all their efforts were in vain, because soon after I sent my radio transmission the man were attacked in force by Russian motorized reinforcements on their way to meet with the guerillas. Today is a sad day for the Desert Task Force; it has lost friendly troops under the command of a man only known as HQ or General AI. The two of the DIRT teams under AI’s command were both reported KIA attacking the towns of Staroye and Solnichniy. Both teams’ demises were caused by poor command on General AI’s part. All of the Wounded were able to be transported safely to my command area, along with most of the equipment, but most of the men were killed while carrying of General AI;s last order, to defend him at his old base camp, as of tonight ¾ of general AI’s troops are either MIA,KIA. The other ¼ of the troops are mostly wounded and require immediate medical attention; as soon as the Air Control can be set up I plan to start evacuating the wounded to a safer location, along with as many survivors as possible. Myself and three of the Desert Task Force’s DIRT teams will stay behind to halt the Russian advance until reinforcements can be sent.
