In order to begin the process of building a powerful navy, capable of defending the Northen Sea, and laying the groundwork for a future, global German Navy, and providing Prestige for the German state, plans have been formalized to begin construction on a new fleet of Battleships, the first of their kind for the Empire. These battleships will be as follows:

Weapons: To incorporate heavy breech loading guns, capable of propelling armor piercing ammunition at high speeds to engage enemy warships with their thick armor. Also a large amount of secondary weapons, especially useful in defending against enemy torpedo boats and other light vessels. The finals weapons will be deck mounted torpedo launchers, in order to provide excellent combat power in close range engagements.

Tonnage: 10,000 tons

Armor: Thick armor, incorporating a heavy armored central section, and less armored ends, the design enables the core sections of the ship with large amounts of reserve air to be protected from enemy damage, thus preventing the ship from sinking in all but the most violent of fleet battles.

Range: Designed for mostly the North Sea, large amounts of fuel can be sacrificed for heavier weapons and armor. Although this will result in a lack of range, it will provide for greater efficiency for our first battleship units.

Names: The naming department went on a trip to Japan and found some city there they liked, thus they proposed the name "Obama-Class Battleships"
