Want to refund game past refund policy.
I bought a game less than a month ago, with 8 hours of playtime. I had tried to refund the game originally when I had it for two days and 3 hours of playtime, but my request got rejected. The game's controls just suck and it's been having performance issues after a recent update. I want to see if a refund is possible.

8 hours of playtime is 4 times more than the refund time. your request is unreasonable.

an update broke the game? read the eula, you have probably agreed to that and i wont explain how unreasonable this one is.

What a strange hill to choose to defend that it is perfectly acceptable for devs to break games after taking people's money. People like this never think about the consequences of taking stances like this, do they?

At 8 hours Steam will probably tell you to take an even bigger hike than they did at 3 but it never hurts to submit a ticket as discussed earlier to ensure a human has a look at it but, at the same time, take it as a life lesson: Steam wants you to refund early and refund often. First sign of trouble in a game, Valve would prefer it if you hit that refund button. There is NO reason to work with a dev or hope a game gets better. Refund should be your first option if you are dissatisfied for any reason, as this is Valve's policy and what they want you to do.

What a strange interpretation, no one is talking about game devs breaking the game. If they did that then the public outcry would be massive, and users can then file a class action lawsuit against the developer.

Not getting a refund from steam doesn't mean you can't go after the dev if they did that
For anyone who's curious, I'm talking about Dragon Ball Sparking Zero. I got tricked by the hype to continue playing despite knowing the games controls were awful. Voice acting sucks, cutscenes take WAY too long to finish, controls are delayed by seconds and the music is generic. Biggest waste of $120.

so you knew the controls were ♥♥♥♥ before you bought it.

it should take less than 2 hours to find out that the voice actiong sucks and that cutscenes takes way too long.
it should also take less than 2 hours to find out of controls are delayed and the music is generic.

so you knew it was ♥♥♥♥ to begin with, still bought it, then playing past 2 hours still knowing its ♥♥♥♥, and now complains you can't refund something you knew was ♥♥♥♥ before you even bought it?
mmmmh, let me "assault" you all:
some people playing games...
some games playing people...
some people play...
some people die...
what's the horsecrap?

sue the hype and get your compensation.

i did the same when i bought vermintide. although it is not such a terrible game. i cried for years about it.
i settled it, when they gave vermintide2 for free, a game which is the same as the first and i did not play it.
so either do the first suggestion, or start crying to them, that they give you dbsz2 for free.
$120for that!?!:steamfacepalm:

I was mostly trying to get a feel for the controls and mapping the buttons to see if it would make it better. The control scheme is fine, the issue though is the input delay specifically. Pressing a button takes almost a full second for the game to register, which leads to me not being able to vanish when the opponent reverses an attack.

Are you infering malice by any chance? Because it sounds like that.

Nothing wrong with trying. Although they treat every request on a case by case scenario, I've seen refunds granted with more playtime than OP.

It depends on each particular case.
