final boss final phase ridiculous difficulty spike?
i don't know if i'm just crazy or if i'm missing something here, but this entire game was extremely easy up until what seems like the final phase of the final boss fight, which is literally about a thousand times harder than anything preceding it. i one shotted all of the bosses and all of the phases of the final boss except this one, and i have attempted it about six times now and i haven't even come close to clearing all of those ridiculous ogre type enemies. you barely get a chance to do anything with them constantly jumping on you for 1.5 hearts worth of damage. i haven't seen anyone talking about it, but does anyone else think this difficulty spike is way too high? and what am i supposed to do here?

That's weird, it was SUPER EASY for me and my friend.

Difficulty-wise, I think the game was "hard" until I got my first armor upgrade, then it was very easy until the last chapter, where I had a little trouble with some enemies and died I think twice for the last boss, but I was probably playing in a lazy way by then.

I don't think it's super hard, but surely felt out of place compared to all other bosses.

The last stage is bad RNG. A couple of times it was pretty easy and then it mass spawns hundreds of the jumping bastard and a bomb thrower. I finally beat it when the game decided to stop spawning the jumpers ad infinitum.

I agree, this difficulty spike is indeed too high. That is straight up BS the way it spawns a bunch of jumping guys (plus boss still attacking you too) and then you're screwed. You can retry immediately but you don't get your healing items back, which makes the retry option on the death menu rather pointless if it decides to do that again.

It took a few more tries but I did get him. I got a few more badges in between that helped as well.

Hi all,

Thanks for the healthy debate about this.
We've just released a big update for the game that adds some new content (including an easy mode and hard mode) as well as balancing and fixes.
This should make for a more enjoyable boss fight.
P.S - There's also a really cool new boss animation!

Thanks.

last boss fight 2nd phase is still ridiculous compared to 99% of the game in terms of difficulty but i guess that's on purpose

The final boss fight seems like it should be in another game entirely. There is absolutely a difficulty change from "Legend of Zelda" hard to "Dark Souls" hard. Other games spawn power ups during the boss fight instead of just relentless waves of death.
Question, if I kill the final boss can I keep playing the same playthgrough?

When you reload the save, you'll be playing before that last boss.

By "before" you mean "right before" the last boss but with "NPCs area" intact?

Because when I saw it being destroyed and got reloaded there when I died (and I almost killed it) I was like "ah f*, will I be able to keep playing?", so I quit and reloaded save and got reloaded at the NPCs area so I did not return to try the final boss again.
Thank you, but I think I will still farm everything else that is to farm within the game (the song thing, upgrades, etc) and will try to 100% all other achievements before trying the final boss again.

Yes, that is what I meant.
A guide of the game here on Steam, says that it is recommended to grind before facing the last boss. I needed some 4 hard tries and item tinkering to beat it. If I did the grinding I did after beating it, before I faced it, I would have finished the last boss in a much easier way.

But I didn't know I would want to 100% the game when I started with the last boss.
