but if you gonna play it again i recommend don't upgrade soldier armor until beat the game keep that save for replaying value make another one for expert skirmish
But there is a trick to finish it in a single attack if you prefer.
On my first run I ended up cheesing the early-mid game with APC/Scout cheese on most levels to finish in one turn so having to actually sit and think how to play was surprisingly nice.
Just wish we could get more in the VC series on Steam.. Be it 2/3 or a new game.
The mission, where the AI starts before you is also nuts (should be 17). I think I started over 11times or so, without getting both vehicles destroyed and half my team send to medbay.
Then it's rather basic clean-up duty.
Last level was actually rather easy, if you know what to do and are properly prepared. I think I used the AP-grenade launcher with specific orders, but it's a very tiny spot to hit all subsections and sometimes it didn't register the hit properly.
edit: I kinda liked, that you could use a lot of different set-ups in VC4 - having a good scout is mandatory, but not broken AF like Alicia was in VC1.
Still, Minerva <3 'double movement' .... hahahaha (specially if you do A/S-rankings or in one later mission, she can circumvent a lot of things, if you give her the order to procc them specials)
It had different weak-spot given the mission - one mission required you to have a Lancer, positioned above while the other could be done with some pot-shot-luck with your tank at a very long distance. (or so I've heard)
Not sure, if the old AP-order tactic works with a trooper.
VC4 is very procc-reliant....VC1 was just hard overall.
"hard" - whatever, we all know by now, that Alicia could single-handedly beat VC1, while on drugs, smashed, completely out of order, crippled and armed with a stick.
should prolly stop editing my post ^^
Brings back memories.....getting the MG34 unlocked in VC1 was scumming-supreme+++
(valkyria DLC)
edit: I threw away my controller more than once....so it's a good game! I do not punch my proper hardware otherwise....it's just some 25€ PC controller.
