Online relied on a 3rd party software that has been no longer maintained or updated since then. So no, you can't.

I remember you could play someone Via LAN, without the 3rd party application. If you're really mad about playing it online, check on Door Kickers - It's literally the same game, but no PVP, just co-op missions.

Also, I doubt the steam version has Lan Support. You'd still need Hamachi, if it did.

I have checked the INI file for multiplayer, it says the last protocol is number 1006, so you can't normally play SWAT 2 multiplayer co-op or Head-to-head on your network.
