Vampire: The Masquerade - Redemption

Vampire: The Masquerade - Redemption

The resolution is not changed. How can i fix it?
Turns out I have a constant battle with changing the resolution of this game to 4k. But it doesn't go over 1080...

Whenever I go to change the resolution, it pretends to change but in reality it stays the same as before. I have tried to change it by modifying a game file by changing the resolution manually, but an error occurs and the game doesn't even start.

How can I solve it and be able to change the resolution to 4k?

Can you be more specific with things you've already tried? Including details enables us to have a better idea of what isn't working so we can focus on things that hasn't been tried yet. That said, do you remember doing anything or using anything at all that got it working in 1080 to begin with?

If you haven't done it already, you should be using DGVoodoo to resolve video memory issues you might be experiencing. Otherwise, there is the widescreen mod (which you can do a search in this game's Discussions to find a working downloadable link). If you're using the widescreen mod and cutscenes appear out of frame, try deleting or renaming the logo.bik and trailer.bik video files. Also editing the masquerade.ini to manually set your resolution... however, it is likely the changes will get reset after you do this, so be sure you set the file to read-only after making your edits.

Good luck!

What I want to say is that I can't set resolution to 4k.

The game does not update the graphics in any way.

I see...

Well, seeing that the game is over 20 years old, you will not get any developer support for modern hardware because Nihilistic Software has been defunct for well over a decade. That said, you're going to have to apply fan mods to get it running in 4k.
