Failing that, there is a GoG link in comments that goes into greater detail.
You can have the mid level Sound Blaster music (which is STILL good) with the best sound effects the game can offer.
Unlike other titles of its day, the game did not support separate drivers for music and sound effects.
There's some guides out on the web talking about how to get Roland music with Sound Blaster effects simultaneously, but they are both convoluted, and very old. Probably not worth the hassle.
Seems however the Steam bundle version makes things overly complicated. The BaK I have is standalone, not from Steam, and I can just change it running INSTALL.EXE through DosBox.
With that, and with BaK being officially/unofficially/"not really but we don't mind" "free" by itself, I don't see why anyone would want it from Steam unless they just want Betrayal in Antara, which is neither as iconic as BaK nor do I think it even has an easy time running through DosBox as BaK does.
