I had the same problem. I verified the game files and it found one bad file which it reacquired. Now the game crashes when I try to load my save file. I think I will have to start from the beginning. I hope this isn't a waste of time.

Just to let you know. The game works fine when you verify and fix your game files. I had to start the game again but it went quickly by clicking through the cut scenes. I am now past the scene in the lodge where it froze.
