Do I need to play the first game?

Will i be missing context or anything if i play this before sins of the fathers. Wanting to play a lot of fmv games instead of the point and clicks

I don't think you do. some things will make more sense, but the location is completely different than in the first game, and the only reappearing main character is Grace, so i don't think you miss that much. If you have the time you should play the first one too, it's a great game.
