I was downloading the game today on my Steam Deck (non oled) and i had the same issue. I found a reddit post with a fix that worked for me.

Before i used the fix i disabled the readonly setting (i think it is required for my steam deck. To do it you need to type in the Terminal/Konsole. After i finished installing the fix i enabled the readonly setting again with the command.

In the downloaded file provided in the post you will have 2 folders. With the COMPATDATA it is located in "/home/deck/.steam/steam/steamapps/compatdata".

As for GAME ROOT it is the folder that opens when you click to browse the game files on steam.

After moving all the files you also need to force the game to run under Proton 5.0-10.

When you finally open the game you will need to go to the options and change the controlls to the xbox 360 controller.

Good to know. I was testing with protontricks and Proton GE but it didnt work for me. I probably did something wrong.

I tried bur didn't work, now every time i start the games crashes istantly

uninstall the game and when you reinstall just use proton ge 8-27 and just leave it alone it takes awhile for it to boot into the game on the first try. just know the game will lock up when the steam deck is suspended

Unrelated, but I assume this works for IF's other steam games such as Fairy Fencer F and Hyperdevotion Noire?
