Risen 2 won't start!
So today i tried to play Risen 2 so i opened steam and pressed play on Risen 2 but after a while nothing happened so i tried again and nothing! I restarted steam but the problem remained, i tried opening Risen from the root folder and a pop up came up and said "Error PhysXloader.dll is not detected, Try reinstalling to fix problem". I reinstalled Risen 2 and the problem was still there. I tried downloading Pysxloader.dll and installing it but that only helped by making the desktop art for Risen 2 to pop up but immediatly disapear, i also tried downloading the latest drivers from nvidia but it said i had everything up to date. The only thing i think might be the problem is that i updated my drivers a few days ago before that risen 2 was working fine. How can i fix this issue?

I've heard that the game doesn't like newer physx drivers. Try uninstalling physx and then install it again using the version that's included in the game folder (...\risen 2\redist\physx\).

Start by verifying integrity of game cache, restart steam, restart PC...you know usual stuff.
Then you could try installing this: http://www.nvidia.com/object/physx-9.12.1031-legacy-driver.html
I had this installed to fix similar problem in Silverfall a while ago and Risen 2 works fine for me right now.
For certain videocards there are other similar versions of the drivers that could work, check the Two Worlds and Silverfall forums, players posted their solutions there.

It starts for me and continues right where I left off...I do have an older version of Physx installed though (9.12.0613).

Try moving your Risen 2 folder (in your "AppData" location) to your desktop to let the game start over in terms of preferences:

C:\Users\[username]\local\Risen2

btw your saved games are here:

C:\Users\[username]\Saved Games\Risen2\SaveGames

check %localappdata%\risen2\config\configuser.xml if the right resolution is set. if not then change it in the xml-file.

Try (re-)installing PhysX from Steam\steamapps\common\Risen 2\redist\PhysX and rebooting.

Same problem here, AMD.

I also have an AMD card, and my suggestion from above fixed it for me. I also recently had an issue with some games not starting due to virus scanner settings having somehow been reset.

any of these solutions worked for anybody? Got the game in a giveaway and I'm havin the same problem to start it

What I found was that the game won't accept a resolution over 1920x1080. If you open %localappdata%\risen2\config\configuser.xml and see it has a higher resolution, edit it to 1920x1080 and that may let the game start.
