I found a hopefully temporary fix to this (that at least worked for me).
When you're at your library - right-click on Grey Goo - hover cursor over Manage - Browse Local Files - Launch/Double left click on the application file named "GooG"
The game should launch then, at least I hope it does.
I myself have an issue as of right now where I want to play the campaign and when I click on "Enter Battlefield" nothing happens. I can't back out, I have to restart the game if I want to try again to just fail once more, validated files, reinstalled 4 times, restarted my PC, everything; nothing.
Did you get your BIOS, CPU, GPU, and Windows updates?
Have you tried on other PCs?
This may be extreme, but have you tried with a clean Windows install?
I don't think it's worth going that far because I just started playing other games.
Thanks for that though!
