Most relevant changes:

moving the camera with the mouse is now working as intended
ground tiles now count above 999
resolved bug where building cost became 0
potato plant now yields 3 potatoes instead of one potato!
unlocked content now stays unlocked even if game is loaded with less knowledge coins
villagers now start with enough energy to not directly switch their harvest focus to berries

Less relevant changes:

the first recipe is now a valid one and its yield gets calculated correctly
villagers now spawn without water under their feet for ~5 frames
knowledge coin gain doesn't overflow if gain is larger than one digit
resolved small interface issue for QHD monitors
started testing and implementing performance optimizations - more to follow

I've taken down the demo from steam prior to release. Last week I've decided to make it playable again on https://otterhandsgames.itch.io/refarmdemo - so if you want to play the demo from the Steam Next Fest Oct'24 now you can :)

Previous changes:

added hold to place/delete/flip function
faster camera movement with arrow keys or WASD - also, the camera can zoom out further
increased world size to over double of previous size
mill system rework - better interface and more recipe variance
new flowers, grass tile and some visual reworks
sacrifice doesn't result in mass starvation
miscellaneous bug fixes and balance improvements

What is the purple thing?

Ok, I can't figure it out. You place one and it says 1/3 so you place three and then... uh... nothing? What the heck is that supposed to be? Edit: Of course I figured it out like two minutes after I post. Nevermind!

Bush questions

Hello dev and friends. I was curious about bushes! ♥ Why do my berry counts go down when the processing buildings don't seem to consume berries? ♥Do the little villagers consume them for energy? ♥ What is the second berry supposed to be? It looks like a blue strawberry lmao I just discovered this game and absolutely love it so far. I love number go up type stuff. Excited to see more updates :)...

New Updates

I love the new sprites that came out today. I wasn't expecting more content sine the game is less than $4, but I do really appreciate the additional flowers and the new sprites for the apples and the growing carrots. I'd love to hear about any plans for updates in the future. Any chance that OtterHands will make community posts in the future to detail recent updates and plans going forward?...

Too much clicking

This game needs a box-select for planting and deleting crops, and placing land tiles. Hold-click to harvest crops would also help

able to finish the game in about 3 hours, hopefully theres updates/expansions soon because im extremely addicted to these kind of games and im about to kms if i cant find any more games like this

Feedback

Aside from of course being much longer than a 5 minute demo and having a bunch of new plants, maybe some livestock and cooking aspects added, I think the game needs: - Music - A delete button - Moving the world around with the mouse, preferably by holding right click since that's the button to deselect whatever you're placing - Dragging to place multiple tiles/plants - Slower progression, you shouldn't be reaching automation in 5 minutes. Maybe more like 20/30 minutes to get your first helper - Tuto...

A friend gifted me this game and I'm really happy that he did.
refarm is honestly such a pleasure to play.
It scratches that same itch of building up a large homestead from essentially nothing that Minecraft Skyblock used to scratch for me.
Growing my farmer population and watching them collect crops for me, and watching the money and number of crops rapidly increase, I get the same satisfying feeling that I got from playing something like Cookie Clicker.
There is also a constant sense of progression that honestly makes it kinda hard to stop playing.
Hats off to the developer for creating such a delightful and enjoyable little experience.
