It feels too real, and what's worse is that it makes me feel like I'm trash.

Boring. Slow. Frustrating. Imo.

The game doesn't explain a single mechanic, doesn't have any kind of tutorial or database bulit-in and yet is pretty complicated in it's nature, not to mention that the UI is pretty bad and doesn't help much either. I'm tired of having to search the wiki and the internet for every damn aspect of gameplay. The last drop for me was the winter season: so i have an improved heater, which is advertised to supposedly burn less fuel compaired to normal heater. I load it with 2 pieces of fuel, supposedly that's enough for a day-night cycle. My characters get sick every now and again - well, that's winter you, i guess. Then 1 of them suddenly kicks the bucket in his sleep because of cold, i look for an answer on teh Internet, and guess what, i had to load more fuel and supposedly build another heater, the amount of loaded fuel increases the temperature, duh. Problem is, nothing in the game tells you how heaters and temperature work, at all, the only piece of info is that improved heaters burn less fuel. And that's EVERY SINGLE ASPECT OF GAMEPLAY.
Want a good colony sim, look no further than Oxygen not Included, it has a tutorial and encyclopedia built-in that you can consult for everything you encounter in the game. This War of Mine offers an interesting idea and a refreshing setting, unfortunately it's all hidden behind hours upon hours of reading the wiki and consulting the guides after you inevitably fail your first several playthroughs for the stupidest things possible.

Great side Scroller Survivor Story.
This is such a good game, I remember when the first one came out and was repeatedly playing it over and over, and fell in love with the dialog that has in the game and the story that each charecter has within the game. Now this game does take a little bit of a learning curve to get decent at it. However I did not find that an issue because of how good the game is in my opinion. You can play this game if you don't want a high speed game and just want to enjoy something that has you on the edge of your seat at the same time wanting to enjoy a story game. You are trying to survive the desolation of the world around you, and along side you have companions that are put to the test of trust and faith and making sure that all of them are well taken care and healthy if you are not careful they can get hurt or even fall sick and be fatal and once you lose that companion, you have to progress the game without them. Even if you liked or they were useful to you. You can take more companion's in your group and even grow your base up to the way you want to in the game bracing for the warm summer and for the cold winter's building beds to make sure that they are well rested for the next night's raid. Or the next nights post that they have to stand to make sure that everyone is safe and are not hurt from intruders that may want to come in the night.

I love this game and highly recommend it. HOWEVER with the time that this game has been out and the sales that have already taken place for this particular game. It would be best if you were to wait for a bundle deal to get the game and all of the DLC's that come with the game for it as well.

I've had this game sitting in my library for a while. Didn't know what to make of the side-scroller look at first but I really like it so far. The survival aspects are perfectly challenging, and I expect many hours of game time ahead. Mostly because I keep restarting the whole scenario when someone dies. X3

My only regret is not getting around to playing it sooner.
