Even if I was playing with my monitor set to 60hz with the game at Low settings it still drops to 10fps in this section of the game while the rest of the game runs at a constant 60+fps
This was tested in multiple ways and it was proven that the rocks are the cause of the performance issue
Still why aon earth would you stress your hardware with unnecessaty high fps?

AFAIK, the average human eye can perceive differences in FPS from 10 up to 500, depending on the type of animation.
