Mortal Kombat's identity and charm was last seen in MK9, every game after that became a "safe corporate product" where they ignored the core audience in search of new fans.

pretty much mkx was my first mk and was decent still is fun to play but mk9 was the last charm indeed i wish a independent company could buy mk like arc system, wayforward, or heck i heard even sega could probably work with it but the japan government probably wont allow it even if they did WB would set a price so high and expensive no studio like i just mention would be able to afford it.

MK9 is the best one. I would hate for them to remaster it. They would most definitely ♥♥♥♥ it up.

mk9 doesnt need a remaster it would be woke, sweet baby inc would just crap all over it, and it would be a microtransaction hellhole

the reason is the exploitation rights of Freddy Krueger have expired. THINK before said ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥

they never gave us a real reason to why mk9 was taken off the digital stores and freddy krueger is owned by warner brothers.

I heard it's because the copyright for Freddy went from WB to the Wes Craven Estate.

Just glad I still have MK9 on Xbox 360. Probably should have bought it when it was still available on Steam, but I already own it on Xbox 360 so I didn't.

It wasn't. You can't withdraw copyright for something already paid for. Otherwise they could simply even just remove the character and

KEEP SELLING MK9.

thanks for the reply man,and yeah i truly dont think this game was removed from steam and digital xbox/PS stores because of freddy,i have the 2010 remake movie on blu ray and when i load it up it says WB when the loading screen happens!

they removed this game so ppl r forced to buy mkx mk11 and that massive flop called MK1.
also they did this cuz this game is extremely offensive for modern audienes, way too much booba and suggestive themes, females are depicted in a sexist, offensive way with unrealistc beauty standards.
