Does order of ecclesia continue having such linear maps?

I mostly got this for dawn of sorrow but thought I would try the other games first, Shanoa seemed like a cool protagonist to me, the first map was ok nothing special, then I did the forest, it’s just a long straight path… it was starting to get old fast. Then the next map is an ocean, another long straight path?

Does this just continue the rest of the game, I stopped when I got to the prison island, it’s a boss on a flat plane. I don’t think I’ll enjoy anymore of this if it’s all flat path maps

There are a few (four or five) linear maps in total in the game. Funnily enough, the prison island is not one such map.

The main linear maps are generally the ones that are labeled like roads, paths, and upper area of the water stages But you won't get a truly good map till the second half of the game.
