I'm more curious about how she'll be depicted after the events of Double Exposure. How will her quest for other "metahumans" end up changing her? Will she end up making her own evil band of super-villains?[/spoilers]
At the end of chapter 3 & start of chapter 4 she became more interesting as she reveals she also has powers. Even if some of her actions were imo bad, her choices are human and understandable.
Chapter 5 is where her character just went bad. She develops a god-complex, shows no remorse for all the people she hurt (at least not really), and starts her quest to "rule the world".
I also disliked her conversation with Diamond in the ending scene. "I've seen nosebleeds like this before" (implying she has powers). Yeah? Me too. It's Winter, people get colds, and the air is dry inside. And Max' nosebleeds only happened when she used her powers, not randomly. I don't understand that writing choice...
Moreover, after Chapter 5 everybody in town knows that Max and Safi have superpowers and they are something more than regular humans. And considering the fact that people in this game post literally everything on their social media it's impossible to keep this quiet. Therefore we can assume that the actual media will be quickly aware of this phenomenon and they have to get somehow involved, right? Just like we could find some newspaper articles about Arcadia Bay etc.
I can already imagine the intro to the next game (if it ever happens, that is):
'This is so-and-so for Chanel 1 coming to you live from Caledon University where Max Caulfield, young photographer responsible for destruction of Arcadia Bay and death of thousands of its citizens is preparing for a final battle against Safi, her former friend who is able to turn into every person she ever met in real life. I'm talking to Chloe Price, Max's another former friend.
- Chloe, could you please tell us what was going through Max's head when she decided to destroy Arcadia Bay and kill all those poor people in order to save your life?'
When the credits said 'Max Caulfield will return' I laughed because it sounded almost like a threat, but right now after reading your post I'd actually love to see that.
It has the potential to be a trainwreck of century.
MCU wins, even the weakest would bash LiS superheroes with one finger. They look weak af and not inspiring unlike other superheroes, I mean who wants to be Safi, Diamond or even Daniel?
This then gets escalated further at her complete lack of remorse for shooting her own mother in a failed murder attempt. I can get being angry but so angry you try to kill your own mom? Safi comes across as manipulative, impulsive, and amoral. It feels like anyone is one bad interaction from her trying to ruin their life in some way with even Max coming close to being on the receiving end of it if Max hadn't caught her that night and explained herself.
Also, anyone who feels it's okay to look through my wallet is not really a friend...
I'm surprised so many people chose to accept her proposal. It would be interesting if in the next game, this choice decides if Max is with or against her, I doubt they'd do that though it seems like a lot of extra work.
