Nobody can ever say any early released game will be successfull , but we gamers like myself can only hope that the devs can make something of this game. Look at stranded deep for example , now a finished game , and only 2 devs started that game.
I feel Vein has the potential to be something good , only time will answer that question :)

When you see assets from asset store, and then animations, UI, GUI etc are all from The Tech Demo of unreal.

You know it's not going to be successful, it doesn't even have a chance.

Honestly I'd call this a scam, devs know what they're doing.

"Look at STranded Deep for example"

You mean a game that didn't just use store bought animations, no proper coding at start and also developed quite a lot of independant code before releasing?

Exactly, now you can see difference, try to use this approach and a bit more of brain and you'll too be able to figure out the DOA games instantly.

Another example, Grayzone was called to be a Tarkov killer, Tarkov can have up to 500k+ Daily players.

Grayzone is at less than 2k players now, I called this out and everyone was saying it would be at 500k+.

Why do I have better eyes than most of the net?

Step A Is I don't get my info from your body cody on Youtube.

Devs already confirmed they worked on a failed project that they btw have tried to distance/hide that they worked on.

So after all those years they still can't code or make a model?

This is like a Car company promising you a car, you pay $150,000 and get two pieces of scrap metal welded as the end result.

Then you see them promise to make an F1 racing car next and you again pay them $200,000 even though your first car lacked an engine, breaks wheel,s transmission, roof, doors etc.

You have this much faith? Wild.

@Heihachi Is A Robot The important thing to remember is that the game is completely free right now. They've had it open to the public completely for free for the past couple years while they work on it. In my opinion that's an even better option compared to these other games that charge you for the game when it's not finished yet.

Theyve been transparent already and said that they will pay for artists once they start charging for the game. The free build will remain free.

what a miserable regard

I personally think its a blatant copy from an already existing game and will never become as famous as the original. It leaves a bitter taste when developer are not able to come up with their own game mechanics and style and just copy and paste in the hope to get a slice of a cake that sales well.

I can not think of any scenario where this game would be able to manage bigger hordes. Vein´s AI and animations are terrible. You need to hit them way to often, you are not able to kite them around in a way that you could handle them properly like in PZ. Getting stuck on everything on the ground. The houses look all the same, full of boxes and clutter on the ground but have no real asthetics otherwhise. Cars have giant hitboxes, floating and wiggle around.

Wouldn´t it be free right now it wouldn´t get much attention. At least in this state of "developement".

I think this one will do well if it gets optimized and cleaned up, it has a good chance of succeeding IMO.

Theres always a know it all with no idea what they are talking about, its a work in progress with default free assets, they havent hired any artists yet until the game is in a good enough state that they can charge for it. It already has more features than a lot of full releases that have been extremely successful and this is a barebones shell developed by only 2 people as a hobby.

Ive played worse games of this genre that I actually paid money for, it takes a total idiot to come into the forum of a FREE game and complain about such trivial things. Maybe go outside more or something.

It's completely normal for prealphas to use assets that won't be used later on. They're called placeholders.
