We, PC players, sit closer to the display (30/40/60cm) and a narrow FOV will spoil the whole experience, not to mention add motion sickness / headache.
And while we're at it, let's make sure that it's a useful tool that would allow ANYONE to customize it's own, personal experience: 60 - 120 FOV (since ultra-wide is supported).

I can see you're probably an adult but I don't know why you would be making this argument when you obviously realize that the game already changes FOV on the fly within the scripted events and even when doing things like getting out of a boat
Usually when the PC version of a console game is marketed, all the bells and whistles are used to show the 'PC specific features'. For this game, the FOV slider was NOT on that list.
But hey, they have time until release to fix this.
